From Shi Davidi: "What we know of the Blue Jays’ script so far is this: They made a strong offer for Andrew Heaney, according to an industry source, before the left-hander agreed on an $8-million, one-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and discussed an extension with Matz. An intriguing question is whether a yes from one would have cut them off to the other, and that would be especially instructive about their intentions for the rotation. They’ll have to backfill for Ray and Matz if neither returns, making two starters a clear need, but successful upside plays akin to the ones both lefties provided in 2021 are essential for them. As a more established commodity than Heaney, Matz will get more term and a bigger number in average annual value, but adding both wouldn’t have precluded the Blue Jays from trying to land an impact player, as well. The guess here is that the ideal target for them in that regard is Corey Seager, a dynamic left-handed hitter who could slide over to another infield spot the way Marcus Semien did last year." https://www.sportsnet.ca/mlb/article/markets-early-days-reveal-blue-jays-off-season-script/

Seems like there will be a ton of competition for these top free agents. Even trash teams are looking to spend big. Apparently the Rangers could add up to 100M in payroll lol

Shi Davidis interview on blair and barker had some really nice tid bits. Said if he remembers correctly, the Marlins wanted one of Bo or Vlad + Borucki, Jansen and Alford for Yelich. Says at the time it didnt make sense for the Jays, but could be something they do now with a Martinez.

Man the raptors are way better than I expected.

Lol

Gurriel jr could be intriguing to the A's lol

Lol

Probably didnt want to be a dick, but yeah, thats tough.

In relation to everything going on at Rogers right now.

Leafs in playoff form in October. Thats special.

On a side, Ed Rogers kicked out by the family lol Not sure if thats a good thing for the Jays.

Fair enough.

No chance Bauer isnt picking up that 40 million dollar player option. As for Matz, he'd be dumb not to accept that QO. I dont think 3/36 would even make it a tough decision for him. He'd essentially need to perform well enough to get at least 2/18 after accepting the QO and he wouldnt lose money. That seems like it would be very realistic target for Matz to hit.

Alpha Anthopoulos

I could honestly not see them being that good defensively. The lack of experience and defensive rebounding will really hurt them.

Masai on the radio saying there will be growing pains and asking for patience. He knows the team will be trash this year lol

I kind of hope the habs actually stay mediocre instead of bad. Although they'd probably f*** up a top pick like they did with kotkaniemi.

Correa deserves 250 mill for that celebration alone I know that made red sox fans mad as f*** lmao

Damn dude, 50 wins is nuts Raptors are a pretty bad team this year. I can very easily see them being under 37 wins. They cant score.

Rose added of Gallo, "How does someone who didn't play every day strike out 213 times? Ray Charles wouldn't strike out that much. I just can't imagine striking out 213 times without killing myself." https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thescore.com/mlb/news/2202125/amp Lmao

One Leafs first round exit comin' right up

Impressive run from the Braves. Good for them.

The amount of success the red sox have in general pisses me off
