exactly the same as any other. How terrible that they are going to miss the playoffs by ONE game! While it's easy to point to having a 2-1 6th inning lead Thursday night and then Robbie Ray forgot where he was and thought he was at the HR contest back in July, I can think of at least 2 games they lost to Boston back in May/June that were horrible losses. One they had a 5-0 lead in the 8th and the bullpen blew it, and the other they blew the save in the 9th then went to extras in Dunedin and had not one but two chances with the runner starting at second with no one out and this vaunted offense couldn't score the runner with two chances then lost in 12. At the time the feeling is just one of 162 plenty of time to rebound from a bad loss, but then this is the outcome after those 162. That is why I get just as pissed off at a bad loss in April as I would in the last week of the season. They lost several games they had no business losing and it was one too many. I remember a 10-14 day stretch where the bullpen blew game after game after game, turns out they could have gotten away with most of them, but not every single one. What a disappointing end, I would have rather seen them get swept by Baltimore and the Yankees sweep the Rays than to get sucked out on the very last day.
