  1. Phil Clarke has yet to strike out after four games played. Sorry if that jinxes it! I also like what Hiraldo is doing with the low strikeout rate and some home run power.
  2. Even Demi Orimoyole has amazing five game stretches. I think. Anyway, I want to see a lot more from Orelvis before I get enthusiastic about his future.
  3. Based on his launch angles and exit velocities the guy 'should' be hitting .272 and slugging .375 for a roughly league average batting line (source: BaseballSavant). Not bad, but he's been very lucky.
  4. Not quite, he wasn't young for the level in Lansing (20 rather than 19), and he hasn't hit for power in Dunedin. Also he doesn't have Moreno's athleticism, which I didn't list, but is of course a big knock against Kirk. Still excited about Kirk's control over the strikezone though, no question.
  5. Gabriel Moreno .280/.371/.512 -Young for the level -K rate well below 10% -ISO over .200 -And now more walks than Ks None of our recent prospects ticked all of these boxes, right, not even the really premium ones?
  6. Looks like the Orioles are running away with the 1st pick, losing nine in a row. I get the feeling the Jays, close as they are to #2 pick, will somehow mess up the tanking process and end up with #7 or something.
  7. Being easily shifted on and being a slowass runner will make xWOBA less accurate. This definitely applies to Smoak and Kendrys Morales, for example.
  8. I was thinking about putting him at Center. Been a bit thin at that position since we lost Rauch.
  9. Unfortunately I don't know anything about our national baseball competition, but I hope these guys have a great time with the Jays!
  10. I see little hype for Gabriel Moreno here. He went 2-for-4 with a homer and a walk, and he's now batting .327/.370/.612 (only 15 games) and will only turn 20 next February. Already more homers than local favourite Kirk (but nowhere near the spectacular plate discipline ofc).
  11. Some tweets on someone I assume is going to be in the organization soon, but currently still playing regionals: The guy tweeting is sports coordinator for Creighton, but I assume the stats are correct. Roughly 22% Ks against the better college pitchers is quite acceptable I guess. I hope this kid adjusts to pro ball better than J.B. Woodman, lol.
  12. Expecting Luciano to the rotation in 3...2...1
  13. These types work out quite often, don't they?
  14. Canadian DJ Davis?
  15. Time to let ourselves be swept a few times by the Orioles. Bring up the Reid-Foley!
  16. I...don't like it. Pitcher with big question marks, blegh.
  17. I don't suppose Bauer would also project some injuries from that delivery...no, I guess not.
  18. Harold likes Abrams. Abrams will be a bust, confirmed.
  19. Sorry, that was a bit unclear, I posted it after the pick was made to comment on how unsurprising it was.
  20. I was gonna say it's about what I expected but then the friggin mic started cutting out...lol
  21. I hope I don't regret staying up next morning.
  22. Do we get Spencer Jones in the 2nd round?
  23. If he's not available I'll be okay with Jones ;-)
  24. Are you still in said hole? Name - Exit Velo - 60 yrd time Hinds - 101 - 7.09 Baty - 101 - 7.23 Witt - 100 - 6.40 Greene - 100 - 6.62 Carroll - 97 - 6.33 Hampton - 96 - 6.44 Lugo - 95 - 6.46 Jones - 95 - 6.76 Callihan - 94 - 7.08 Abrams - 93 - 6.29 Henderson - 93 - 6.87 Paris - 91 - 6.82 Nunez - 90 - 6.28 ------2018 class------ Notable: PG event averaged 2 mph lower exit velocity than 2019 class Kelenic - 96 - 6.57 Gorman - 95 - 7.00 Casas - 95 - 7.15 Naylor - 92 - 6.62 Groshans - 90 - 6.65 Seigler - 90 - 7.08 Scott - 87 - 7.00 So far so good for last year's exit velocity standouts. (Casas sports a .503 SLG but strikes out a bit much at 26%)
