  1. The top of he order will rip Lucas apart
  2. Pretty nasty pitch. Hard to argue with that.
  3. haha oh jeeze, don't say that!
  4. lol god that was an ugly approach from Pillar.
  5. Hate to see anyone go down, but Josh Lucas is a gas-can. Should be easy teeing for the Jays.
  6. I like Marco against the A's! Good match-up for us! We just need him to give us some length
  7. It's been hard to understand the sense in some of Riveras calls this year. He's been lucky a few times with some awful throws too.
  8. Yeah, I thought for sure they'd hold him there... Ugh.
  9. Well, the offense got 5 across the plate. That should usually give the team a decent chance to win. Sanchez has to stop pitching like a gas-can. He was atrocious tonight.
  10. Is Morales the most expensive free agent that Atkins has signed? He's gotta be worried about the optics of releasing his highest paid acquisition. That's the only logical explanation at this point.
  11. Morales should have been cut after last season... Seeing the better options that were available for next to nothing make Morales hurt even more. The Nats got Mark Reynolds on a minor league contract. Would way rather have a guy like that.
  12. Come on man, I like Gibby too but I think you're going a little far with "borderline genius manager".
  13. Man, Fowler looks like straight trash out there haha.
  14. You guys sound like casual fans. This game isn't over yet!
  15. And the Dodgers lose again... That's 6 straight against the Reds and Marlins of all teams:o Christ, they're digging some kind of hole!
  16. Finally the Dodgers looking like the Dodgers again. They tie it up 5-5!
  17. And now the Marlins are kicking the crap out of Buehler. Good lord, I know the Dodgers have suffered some key injuries, but they look like s***
  18. Well, they're not playing like they are lately... I'll give you that!
  19. Yeah, I realize nothing is surefire. If these guys practiced bunting more they'd no doubt be able to take advantage of the shift more than they're currently doing.
  20. I don't understand why bunting against the shift hasn't caught on more than it has. I understand these power guys aren't paid to hit singles, but when you're leading off in the 2nd against Verlander and there's no one on the left side of the field you gotta take the easy bag.
  21. I don't really find Stromans persona all that annoying. He's a man who takes a lot of his pride in his performance and he's very vocal about it. Some might find the public displays pointless, but it takes all kids. Like Spanky said, it all comes down to his on the field performance. I think the only time I've been annoyed by Stroman was when he spoke out negatively about the front office releasing Ryan Goins. That was incredibly stupid. The man's been in the league long enough to know that that sorta thing isn't tolerated.
  22. I don't see it as "burning a year" There's been a lot of kids who have debuted at 19 over the years. I think the team is good enough that they can be in the hunt for the wildcard and the kids tearing it up in the minors. I feel like if the player is ready for the big leagues, that there isn't much sense in thinking 6 years down the line because who knows what the situation will be then. It's not as if the Jays are the Tampa Bay Rays. Toronto has deep pockets, so if they like what they see they should be able to sign him to an extension. If anything, if the kid is ready and the Jays call him up, it will be a sign of goodwill that could go a long way in future negotiations. If the Jays were just s*** this year, then I wouldn't see the purpose, but they've looked like a decent team. We can't expect the starters to struggle like they have been. I think they'll straighten it out and the offensive pop that Vladdy offers could really help carry the club. I feel like it's worth a shot. I would wait till the beginning June to make the call though. See how the kid does for the rest of the month.
  23. Just a casual question. On the plus side, I like how he's used the bullpen. Sure, they've been overused, but that's only because the starters have been so underwhelming.
