  1. Well, to be fair, the first half of the 2015 season looked pretty similar. Some big moves could potentially make all the difference.
  2. lol I can't tell around this place sometimes:o
  3. Need a shutdown inning here
  4. A walk is just as good as a base-hit
  5. Atta boy Teo! big momentum swing right there. This guy's a scrub. Jays should be able to step it up and win this game.
  6. He's a mental midget. Always has been.
  7. I cant' believe they signed this clown to a 3 year deal.
  8. One would imagine that a bounce back is in order, but the A's have a lot of experience with Kikuchi but their bats are so bad that it probably doesn't matter.
  9. Ehh I just don't see it. The lineups a little one dimensional. Not enough proven sluggers who can hit for average. It's a very streaky lineup and that's a recipe for disaster when you're in the playoffs facing the best pitchers in the game. Nobody in this damn lineup knows how to grind in atbats. They lack baseball IQ. But, we'll see what happens before the deadline. If they make a few blockbuster moves it could definitely move the needle.
  10. Nothing but guys swinging out of their shoes for the fences while we're down 5 runs... I don't get it.
  11. I dunno guys. If this team doesn't make some big moves before the deadline, I don't see how we'll have any chance in the playoffs. Not enough consistency. in 2015 we had shitkickers like Donaldson, Bautista, Edwin, Tulo, these were all guys with experience who knew how to get the job done. I don't have anywhere near the same faith in guys like Vladdy, Bo, Chapman ETC. It's possible we sneak into the wildcard, but I see it going much like the 2020 season. I just don't see the star quality with this lineup. Today is a perfect example of the inexperience.
  12. alright boys, I'm checking out. Vogt crushing dingers is my cue to leave:eek:
  13. It always amazes me when this team has so much problems against scrub left handers. Doesn't make any sense. And it's not like they haven't faced Irvin before.
  14. Come on boys, 3rd time through the order, time to smash this guy.
  15. If Manoah starts regressing, then the Jays REALLY have problems... Hopefully just a blip in the radar.
  16. Yeah man, getting tired of these guys bitching about perfect pitches
  17. Calm down Romo... Your team's losing by 8 runs:rolleyes:
  18. I haven't really paid attention to the farm system, but surely there's a young arm down there more worthy of taking a look at than Thomas Hath?
  19. I disagree. Guys like Tony Gwynn weren't guys who really stung the ball. They sprayed the ball all over the field and were able to poke the ball through holes. Or take a lot of the speedsters throughout the last 40 years. A lot of those guys didn't exactly sting the ball and they still put up great averages, OBP and they swiped a lot of bases. No doubt more attention is placed on launch angle and off-bat velocity these days, but there's no reason why a bat like Gwynn's wouldn't be a sought after asset in todays game.
  20. Amen. Don't get me wrong, I admire hard-hit contact as much as the next guy, but to dismiss every other hit as luck is oversimplifying things to an egregious degree.
  21. Do you guys chalk up every base-hit that isn't stung as being "luck"? It's kind of an odd way of thinking that I see pretty much exclusively on this forum. You look back in the history of baseball and there's guys who've made a career on bloop hits and weak contact. Not every hit needs to be scorched.
  22. Lol seriously, don't the Jays have any better depth in the minors than THIS? Rays just punching their s*** in
  23. When the ball is put in play, good things happen. Only 9 defenders on the field. I don't know why everyone chalks this up to luck.
