    I want to thank Atkins for a great off season and the improvements over 2024. Without Giminez they would have been shut out. Future is bright. yes I am being coy.

    This really just sucked any hope I had for the season and the future out of me. Whether it would have been a good or bad deal at least we had our star locked up instead of hoping to bring in a guy through free agency that ultimately won't sign here. The only option now is trade him and Bo and rebuild.......again.

    The F it up version is 1 - Lose him for a comp pick (our version of Shohei by Angels) 2 - Not finding a way to get him signed. 3 - If traded that it is for a weak haul. I don't care as much about how much as others do. Springer goes off books soon and they aren't extending Bo. The FA market clearly does not like that there is no long term marquee piece. His value is more than just his WAR. Teams look to sign and develop upper echelon players. This is the Jays. Now get him signed. They have no other in the system.

    I find it hard not to believe that Atkins won't f*** this up. Extending one of our own has not something the Jays have done a lot of in recent years

    We extend Vlad or experience what the NY Giants fans are experiencing watching Barkley dominate in another uniform.

    My thoughts on need to do - sign/trade for big bat - relief arm - sign Vlad - get Bo value up and trade at mid season. Giminez to SS and if Wagner/Schneider doing well they take over 2b ALCS here we come.

    he probably starts in CF until Varsho is back and then he will got o bench as a role guy until it is painfully obvious how terrible he is and if he has options he will be shipped to Buffalo or released, If the record is bad he plays out the whole year in MLB as at that point they are not going to release and eat that salary.

    Jays better sign/extend someone of note tomorrow to get this off people’s minds asap.

    Varsh going to likely miss a month and the iNtl money so deal has some sense to it. He can be a bench guy when Varsho returns and play again when Springer goes out hurt.

    I don't know for 13 years, however I am in the camp of pay the man. It is so hard to get a player that has this skill base at this age. We need a piece to build around and we have no one in the organization that fits that mold other than Vlad. Money is not Rogers issue so I don't worry about the total salary commitments as much as some may. I would just like to pay him more early and have the per year amount decrease as he gets older. That way when he struggles as a 35-36 YO he can be dumped without as much of an impact on the roster. I don't see him playing to 40.

    Watch Atkins not be able to trade the expiring contracts or has to take s*** because he couldn't get deals done earlier. A final FU on his way out the door.

    Can Bo be traded while in the IL?

    There have been some bad years, however the last 2 with all of the expectations have been the worst for me. I didn't have a lot of expectations in those years referenced above.

    The only real change this year was shortening the pitch clock a cpl seconds. i wonder if that is impacting.
