  1. It's called "karma". Odor got paid in spades in October for his actions in May. This will be on his conscience for the rest of his life.
  2. When Drew Storen faces only 3 Jays and strikes out all of them, that sends a clear message. Hitting coach should be worried.
  3. I still think Jays should hire Osuma's dad as a pitching coach for the rest of the pitching staff. He's done an amazing job with his son who's given him all the credit for his success.
  4. Put him in the bull pen for the rest of the season. Don't use him to face even one batter and then if necessary only when they have at least a 10 run advantage.
  5. Perhaps I should have qualified my statement in my original post by adding "and better than an out"
  6. With 3and 2 on Donaldson he will reach for a low and outside pitch more times than nought to either strike out or foul tip. He needs to start letting them go. Walks are as good as singles.
  7. Jay's strike out numbers are horrible. Looks like the pitching coach is not doing his job. Even Gibby agrees that swinging for the fences is not the way to go. Games like these are winnable if only there were more patience at the plate form all including Donaldson and Saunders.
  8. Sanchez was favouring the middle finger on his throwing hand on Saturday so it is possible that rather than putting him on the 15 day DL, this would work better for the team. They did indicate that he would not be actively pitching in Dunedin which makes this the most likely reason for this action.
  9. If Pillar is determined to slide face forward into a base then it should be mandatory that he were a protective glove. Gibbons has to enforce it. As for a replacement outfielder, bringing in new fresh blood rather than someone nearing the end of their careers, is the way to go Good ones are out there so it's up to the scouts to go find them.
  10. Travis is one of very few who is a pleasure to watch whether playing defense or at bat. He enjoys what he does and transmits that enjoyment to the spectator. That is what the game is supposed to do and Travis is contributing 100%. For that I rate him at the very top.
  11. Gose thought he was God's gift to baseball. Guess God wasn't too keen on the game.
  12. The reason for acquiring Upton had to be to make Smoak look good after that $6m extension. They can now be referred to as Mr Strikeout #1 and Mr Strikeout #2
  13. Since Dickey is nearing retirement, wouldn't it be better to shop him now and get something in return? It would also make room for another catcher to come on board and share the load with Martin who may play better with more rest.
  14. It's unimaginable that the five top sluggers on a team would be so inept against a bottom contender. Did Matt Devilin put their bats to sleep?
  15. Osuna went back to his dad when he started to falter to get straightened out. Perhaps Blue jays should consider hiring him to straighten out the rest of the bull pen.
  16. The purpose of shortening the game is to complete the game coverage within the network allotted 3 hrs which, when allowed to exceed, costs revenue from the sponsors of the scheduled programs that follow. There has to be a better way than limiting relief pitchers.
  17. It's hard to enjoy baseball when the play by play announcer puts you to sleep. At least BucK can keep you awake, even though he make mistakes.
  18. Limiting the time outs called by a batter would help speed up the game. Once/appearance at the plate other than an unexpected obstruction; ie , something in the eye, would speed the game up.
  19. Devilin has a very boring monotone voice, not suitable for play by play announcing. Hopefully we won't be hearing him much more doing Blue Jay games.
  20. Smoak strikes out too often especially with men on base, he can't run and can only play 1st base. Definitely not a good move when they do have other options. A 2015 Collabello wld be a better option than Smoak, at a hell of a lot less money.
