  1. That was actually an amazing challenge. Here's the article about it in case anyone forgets that flash of brilliance. http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/mlb/toronto-blue-jays-take-advantage-of-replay-challenge-to-have-own-runner-called-out-score-run
  2. That makes way more sense... totally read that wrong. I should have picked up transfer vs. exchange!!!
  3. LOL-- just tell them you're using mine-- I can't see using more than 10
  4. Do you find the exchange interface a little difficult to use? It seems like the interface for single game ticket sales is way better. You can only see one section at a time and no indicators of how much availability so it's pretty time-consuming. I gave up last night and didn't bother (it went live last night).
  5. Cleveland is actually a pretty interesting city. Check out the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame while you're there. I only had 2 hours to check it out, and could have definitely stayed longer!!! There is an area near the Quicken Loan basketball arena with some good restaurants and interesting architecture. I ate at a place called Zocalo Tequilaria and the food was good/ inexpensive. There were all sorts of other restaurants on that strip that looked pretty good.
  6. Generally best to avoid the White Castle around 8 mile road in Detroit.
  7. Ideally you find some of your friends or co-workers that want to take your seats. You give them to them at cost or close to it and everyone is happy-- you friend gets a break on the seats (and better seats) vs. box office. If nobody wants the tickets I think the best route is the online companies like Stubhub. I recently discovered a fantastic company that is a better alternative to stubhub, called TickPick. I included a link at the end of this post. The nice thing about tickpick is that they charge you the standard 10% that stubhub does BUT they don't charge fees to the buyer if the tickets are bought through them,so your tickets end up being cheaper there and you're more likely to recover your money. ALSO, they post your tickets on their site AND on stubhub, so you get increased exposure (therefore also increasing likelihood of finding someone to take your tickets). http://tickpick.com/r/hmjdltnaokbhnajm.dpn
  8. I got rid of most of the tickets I didn't want/ can't use already, and sold the vast majority of them (i.e. basically everything but Canada Day and the home opener) for under box office prices. Even if I doubled my money I'd make something like $2000-- just not worth the effort of trying to sell 60 pairs of tickets. I love the seats and have the seasons so that I can make sure I get to sit there. I think we chatted privately about you grabbing some a few months back-- I didn't hear back from you though.
  9. DEFINITELY agree. 90% of baseball happens in the infield. The closer you get to the plate the better. I'd take 500 level near plate over 100 level outfield any day or night. My seats are in the first row of 524 and it's the best value in baseball. If you look around baseball the most expensive seats are behind the plate. It's exceptional relative to most other markets that the Jays price the whole 500 level the same and as long as they do I couldn't imagine giving up my seats. I know some people prefer being in the outfield, and that's fine, but what I'll say is this... there's a reason the broadcast team calls the game from a box behind the plate and not in the outfield! Here's a comparison: http://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/43623/Rogers+Centre/section-524B/row-2/seat-110/ http://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/48738/Rogers+Centre/section-142/row-4/seat-2/ http://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/27678/Rogers+Centre/section-137/row-1/seat-101/
  10. I guess everyone likes something different-- just noticed that tons of fields discount outfield vs. other locations. Also most of the "action" takes place within 120 feet of the plate, so being close to it has always been my preference.
  11. Not trying to offend. Ya I'm just curious... I'd take 500 level behind the plate over 100 or 200-level seats in outfield. I did for that matter (I have 524 row 1). I actually find the Jays' price map quite unusual. Take Fenway Park for example-- cheapest seats are bleachers-- they don't divide into 100/200 level, but those seats are right where yours are. On the other hand, seats equivalent to 524 row 1 are some of the most expensive (partly because it's a luxury seat zone, but clearly you try to put the luxury zones in places that provide the best sightlines).
  12. Does anyone really think this is a section that provides a great view? I've always preferred sitting behind the plate, and this is pretty much the opposite. I feel like the outfield is for people who really want to catch a home run, which is something I've never understood. http://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/25880/Rogers+Centre/section-209/row-3/seat-105/ http://aviewfrommyseat.com/photo/47266/Rogers+Centre/section-209/row-1/seat-9/
  13. They haven't said this explicitly, but it looks like they are taking the most popular games (i.e. the ones where prices are spiking) out of flex pack inventory. For example, a lot of September games are gone from flexpack inventory despite single game tickets being available. While a lot of people might be frustrated by the dynamic pricing I think it's actually a good thing... the smaller the gap between face prices via Jays and what Scalpers can command for tickets the less incentive there will be to scalp. Scalpers don't like getting involved unless the risk-reward is favorable.
  14. I don't think it will cause big swings, even if they make a run for it in September. Even the home opener didn't get above $30 as face for upper bowl and that's a guaranteed sellout crowd (same for Canada Day).
  15. For people that have bought from me I've found phone + skype/facetime is helpful. People usually appreciate being able to google me and verify my profile online matches my face on the phone (/skype/facetime). You need to be careful who you buy from, it's easy to get ripped off, so be careful. I think the e-transfer is the best way to buy though--sorry, GD. You don't want PDF's that someone could email to 100 other people, or print at home tickets that can easily be photocopied. When you do a transfer through the Jays account you get a brand new bar code, which means the tickets are yours and the seller can't resell them again and again and again.
  16. Stephen Brooks announced that not all events will be able to accommodate all STH's this year. I guess this one is an easy one for them to host all of us:).
  17. looks like they didn't limit the number of STH's that can go
  18. Sorry for leaving that out. I have been selling at my cost as a season ticket holder, which is $14/ ticket. That is under box-office or even flex pack price. Remaining games getting limited.
  19. purchase price (hard to avoid that pun) could be a big problem, especially if more than Greinke. I thought it was weird that they said North of $200 million. Rumors a few weeks ago were in the ballpark of 7 year deal, $30 million per year. I wonder if value (trying to avoid the word price) is coming down a bit and maybe duration of deal too? It's just a rumor that he's considering Toronto at this point, so maybe not worth reading into the contract side much at all...
  20. Just read this interesting rumor that David Price may prefer to return to Toronto, contrary to earlier reports: http://www.chatsports.com/toronto-blue-jays/a/blue-jays-rumors-david-price-prefers-play-toronto-24335 Obviously this is just a rumor, but I think this would be fantastic if it happened. I know everyone is critical of his playoff record, but he really was great in the ALCS, and was exceptional in the regular season. Along the same lines I came across this website which is pretty funny: http://www.anypricefordavid.com/ It let's you pledge what you'd do to get David Price back... check it out. I posted #366 . GO JAYS GO!!!
  21. I suspect you will get some sort of a pre-sale if you hold a flex pack. They know everyone wants to go to the home opener. It is the most desirable game of the regular season. I think this is a move to ensure they sell more tickets. With this strategy a 20 game pack becomes 21, 15 game pack turns into 16, 10 game pack becomes 11. You'll be frustrated/ annoyed, but I'm sure they figure they will sell out the home opener whether or not it is included in the smaller packs.
  22. "Yes but the only guaranteed access to purchase is with season tickets. We may for the flex products (1/2)...(2/2)....like we did in 2015 but it will depend on our #'s. Our season tickets are just so much higher. Check terms" He also said terms and perks will be posted in full on Thursday in another post. I spoke to a rep today (high ranking based on title listed on Jays site). The information he provided aligned with the rationale I posted. They may give flex packs a pre-sale, but no promises or guarantees will be made, at least as per the information I was provided, re: playoff tickets for most, if not all, flex pack options.
  23. He said very clearly that they sold so many season tickets this year that they just can't do it for flex packs. A few reasons for this: 1) Seasons gets more than the number of tickets they take for the year 2) They expect demand to be up for flex packs regardless They aren't even including the home opener for flex packs unless you get the 40-game pack!
  24. Stephen R Brooks (@sbrooksbaseball) just indicated no guarantee of playoff tickets with flex packs this year... does that change things? I hope they take this extra money and find a star pitcher to take them back to the playoffs again so that matters!!!
