  1. pretty embarrassing....everyone trying to hit a 3 run homer with nobody aboard. Guys swinging out of their shoes. This team is built for spurts of success, not long term success or championship success. Gibbons plays station to station. Nobody every in motion, no sacrifice bunts, etc. Just sit back and wait for the 3 run homer. This series will be much like the KC series last year. Out played and more than anything out managed making this Cleveland pitching staff look like the '27 Yankees....ridiculous. Keep swinging for the fences boys!!
  2. blame the umps all you want.....i'm more inclined to look at the 0-13 with RISP in 1 GAME. What a joke for a team that is supposed to feature offense. Gibbons should have squeeze bunted with no outs to ensure the tie but he doesn't do things like that. He lets his base runners sit there and rot. Horrible baseball. They did not deserve to win
  3. what should he be doing? praising the Blue Jays ability to leave runners in scoring position?
  4. more to the point one team can manufacture a run, the other can't. If the Blue Jays got 2 singles in a row it just means the next 3 guys would get out and leave them on 1st and 2nd. No fundamental baseball played by Toronto. Makes you wonder how they got this far?
  5. another no name comes thru in the clutch while our "big bats" leave runners stranded time and time again. They were out played badly in these 6 games
  6. actually with the Blue Jays' inability to play fundamental baseball Revere would have to get a triple then come home on a wild pitch in order to score
  7. two feeble fly balls and a strike out...maybe it's time to cool down all the talk about this "big hitting" Toronto offense
  8. well the shouldn't but the way it's looking they likely will. A championship team moves runners and manufactures runs, they don't leave guys standing at 2nd multiple innings with no outs, etc. It's frustrating to watch our hitters refusal to play fundamental baseball. Maybe next year will bring a realization that you can't play station to station baseball and hope for the HR. They should at least be up 3-2 right now, probably 4-2 but they continue to hit ground balls in front of the runners and weak fly balls so our guys just stand on their base the entire time. Frustrating to watch professionals not be able to sacrifice runners and move them.
  9. I'm too lazy to look it up but does anyone know Price's ERA this post season? has to be 8ish? not good, not #1 material. Even though he's sucked I think if they do lose this series it really comes down to our hitters unwillingness to adjust and go the opposite way. We didn't move runners well in either series and the fact that they have a ton of pop outs and weak pulled ground balls says they are trying to hit HR's every time up instead of manufacturing runs. Also our lead off spot was atrocious. I thought after game 5 we might see a change and have Tulo lead off or even Pillar. Revere was pretty much an automatic out
  10. This series is reminding me of the 1991 series vs. the Twins. Any time they got a runner on base (which was often) in that series you just got the sense he was going to score. Our pitching just isn't good enough. Also our hitters trying to hit 3 run homers with nobody on base doesn't help
