  1. Goldy can still spank lefties but sucks vs righties, thanks Boone. Yankees have played Ben Rice at 1b this year too. No Volpe hurts, oh well.
  2. Chisholm left the last Yankees game with a knee contusion. He may not be available tonight either. Their bullpen is kind of spent as well so opportunity is knocking right now for tonights game.
  3. He does play a key position so there is that. Also baseball never inclines to a DH only player getting MVP consideration unless you're talking about the Unicorn.
  4. Varsho + short right field porch = happiness 😌
  5. If the Yankees fall behind early I predict another Boone outburst. Grab the popcorn folks.
  6. Contrary to your earlier point I don't believe a single regular poster on this message board would put Vlad ahead of Springer this season. Also I didn't say George would win the AL mvp. I said that in my opinion he is a better candidate than Cal Raleigh for mvp. As far as those who vote for Cal over George, well they can be wrong if they want. I know better.
  7. I don't think a player who only plays once a week should be in the MVP conversation. Playoffs are a different conversation because everything is so compressed. I know Verlander won MVP years back. Eckersly won it as a reliever the same year the Jays won their first Championship. That was deserved I think. Can't recall any other pitchers winning it. Edit: just checked, forgot about Kershaw and Clemens.
  8. This season George Springer is the best player on this team. "Nobody here" considers him the best player on this team? Who else has been more valuable? Bo? Maybe. Vladdy? No.
  9. My goalposts were as stated. Overall impact and team success. George checks both boxes admirably.
  10. It's incredible the uproar Yankee fans are creating because of one borderline call yesterday to end the game against Houston. The team known throughout the annals of baseball of getting borderline calls to go their way are having a bitchfest on social media calling for investigations and roboumps now. Pathetic.
  11. Probably get tarred and feathered for this but George Springer is more deserving of AL MVP than Cal Raleigh based on his overall impact on the team combined with team success.
  12. Not to one up you but I was calling for the comeback before the Jays scored a run. But you did put down the pesos so....
  13. To be fair to Masterbather he does cheer on the team from time to time. Perhaps he is of the school of thought to expect the worst so one is never disappointed. Back in May (I could easily find the original post) he praised the Jays bullpen for having great arms. The reason I remember it is because it went against his usual criticism and thus made me raise a Spockian eyebrow of curiosity. That said I don't think we should be telling other posters what "don't need" on Blue Jays Centre forums. I trust the mods to sort the wheat from the chaff. Despite my disagreements with him I consider him an overall good addition to the forums (not that my opinion means anything), and someone that shouldn't be chased away. He is a Blue Jay fan just one who sees a dark cloud instead of the silver lining but a fan nonetheless.
  14. Da Jankees lose.
  15. I'm convinced Chisholm is roided up
  16. Omg Belli
  17. Grisham has been great for the Yanks though.
  18. Boone really feels the heat knowing the Jays have already secured a win.
  19. I actually fear the Stros more than the Yankees. They have a winning pedigree. They find ways to win.
  20. I didn't even know Yordan was back.
  21. Series win secured. Off to the Big Apple. LET'S GO JAYS!!
