    Agreed....but if your regulars are scuffling that is even more reason for the manager to be ultra prudent in his managing decisions not less so. When you have a chance to win the game you dont wave the white flag (letting Goins bat) and chalk it up to just another bad day.

    I submit to you that letting Goins bat late in a close game (with runners in scoring position!), against a division rival (Orioles), while you have Pearce ( batting close to .500 at that time since coming off the dl) languishing on the bench is not just illogical......it is full on incompetent. Morales and Tulo are big ticket players who the manager has no choice but play so agreed on that.

    ....hence my only recourse is hoping for an injury. I cant fathom why Gibbons refuses to field the best hitting lineup on a day to day basis. This team is scuffling and his laissez faire attitude is helping no one while ensuring this will be his last major league managerial position.

    Agreed but to my mind he is a roadblock to Pearce playing everyday.
