    He was awful as long as I can remember. Terrible at his job, even by mlb umpiring standards.

    I think the front office wanted to put a contending team on the field in 2021 but didn't anticipate how good certain players would be: Expected Vladdy to be good not necessarily great this fast. Expected Semien to be somewhere between his 2019 and 2020 performances. He was other worldly. Expected Bo to continue to develop but not necessarily all star caliber in 2021. Expected Ray to be Ray not Cy Young. They were hopeful Teo could turn into what he is but over a full season who knows? They expected Springer to play a lot more games than he did. Covid f***ed up our schedule, 3 different home fields. I think we give Shatkins a pass on all that. Montoyo I don't give them a pass on.

    Believe it or not, Montoyo used to be a real hot head. Got tossed in minor league games all the time. Once his son got sick he had a change of heart. He is a different person now. He is never going to be that guy again. He needs to go back to the minors. Sad but true.
