    After going 2 for 4 with a walk yesterday, Varsho is rewarded by being moved down the order to bat 6th. If only he went zero for four he could have stayed batting second. John Schneider's rules of baseball. Go figure.

    Alek Manoah makes his return today when the Toronto Blue Jays take on the Washington Nationals. Manoah has struggled mightily since earning a handful of Cy Young votes in 2022. The big righty posted an 8.69 ERA in five spring training starts, though he did fan 12 batters in his last outing. Manoah starts opposite MacKenzie Gore.

    True that. When Pearson came into the game I wondered if he would get around to the top of the order to Abrams. He did, and no one was surprised. When that ball was lifted in the air, John Schneiders career passed before his eyes.
