  1. This post is a complete indictment of the Blue Jays front office and their strategy for the past nine years. Surprised at some of the people giving it a like actually.
  2. Even after Davis said, "No,no, no....only at home" Vladdy: you don't want? Davis: no. Vladdy splashes him anyway. Vladdy is like an eight year old delinquent.
  3. You have to read between the lines. His former team screwed him up and it's going to take a while to set him straight.
  4. Interesting that they point out that his WPA is the 11th worst in the league but just ahead of him, barely, is Bo Bichette except unlike Pena, Bo's wrc+ is in the toilet too.
  5. One thing I distinctly remember when Mark Shapiro arrived here in Toronto, he lamented the fact that Alex Anthopoulis had drained the farm system in order to build the 2015 team. I thought okay. This guy is going to come in and rebuild our farm system from scratch and have a constant pool of Major League ready players or potential players. How wrong I was? In actual fact we hired the wrong guy. We should have hired Chris antonetti out of Cleveland and not Shapiro because Chris antonetti is the one who built the Cleveland farm system at that time. Shapiro didn't do much for Cleveland after 2010. Maybe he saw the writing on the wall and jumped ship for that reason. Either way Shapiro has been a let down for me, cupholders notwithstanding.
  6. Yeah, you're right about not being able to predict things. But it's more than that. It's about development, it's about spending 230 plus million and having very little to show for it, it's about not having a backup plan, it's about accountability,. Anything less is a cop out.
  7. Tell me more.
  8. Even though as stated in the preceding posts that merely changing the GM will not lead to systemic changes throughout the organization; this is true but if we're at the stage where we're tearing down things, it will require immediate and impactful decisions to be made regarding headcount and who's on the bus. The immediate decisions on a rebuild are key to the overall strategy. So if you're going to dispose of the current GM and get a new one, you damn well better be sure you got the right guy at the steering wheel of this bus because the changes he makes in the next 2 years will have a devastating impact if they're wrong for years to come.
  9. ....but if you can't pencil in a lineup properly:confused:
  10. Tonight Schneider sits Varsho due to the lefty and proceeds to pencil in Keirmaier. Springer has been a black hole and yet there he is batting leadoff. Like does he want to win games or what?
  11. My reworking of a Tolkien poem for you BJMB members: Where now are the pitching and the defense? Where is the home run ball that was leaving the yard? Where is the helm and the hauberk, and Bo's bright hair flowing? Where is the barrel on the bat, and the exit velocity going? They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow; The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow. edit: I thought of this because the guy who played King Theoden in the movies (Bernard Hill) died recently. He recited something like this in movie. So a bit of a homage to him. RIP.
  12. I think he will make adjustments as he matures. The best of Bo Bichette is yet to come, imo.
  13. I think you're both wrong here. He has too much natural talent and is a smart hitter. Unlike Vladdy he will sort himself out.
  14. I've seen this happen in my professional life too. People who don't have the fortitude to "be their own man" end up getting s*** canned anyway. Schneider has been managing scared for over two seasons now. He is terrified what would happen to the clubhouse if he dropped Springer to 6th in the batting order. He is the author of his own demise. Can't blame it on Atkins. He didn't man up.
  15. The first two are possible I guess. The third? You of all people should realize by now that Biggio is INDESTRUCTABLE!
  16. Vladdy is going to get two managers fired before he hits his mid twenties! Who says young people can't accomplish big things?
  17. Problem is that we have no internal candidates that I see who would be impactful. May as well ride it out until seasons end with Schneider as painful as that would be.
  18. Something has got to give for this team. Painful.
  19. 8 Career grannies for Harper....what a stud.
  20. Did Kody Clemens get in his old mans medicine cabinet?

  22. We're still in this game.
