    Short series it makes sense for tactical flexibility to go with a short pitching staff. That one extra pinch runner could change the outcome of a game. Stroman's second half has been dreadful. Velo dropping like a stone. He may be officially washed. Let the crying begin.

    Bassett wanted to make his last start of the season and the organization said no. He was pretty pissed. Although I wouldn't put it above Dimano to just make this whole thing up.

    So I finally listened to the Shapiro/Atkins season ending press conference today in its entirety. One thing that stood out was the question to Shapiro about next years payroll. His answer was that it will not be substantively different than this season. So I guess I will have temper my expectations.

    Won't everyone have a different "level of restraint" for a 25 year old tracking for a hof career? Everyone interested will shift what they are willing to spend not just Cohen. That's the point.

    I wouldn't mind seeing the Dodgers vs Padres. Dodgers were 5 - 8 against them this season. Could be very entertaining with a lot of runs scored.

    Also why call him a generational talent before going into negotiations with him. After you pay him a boatload of money, then you can call him a generational talent. Skeletor ain't dumb.

    Yeah, but playoff baseball. That being said the run differential of the Yankees facing the Royals this season tilts heavily in the Yankees favour. 42 vs 24.
