  1. It's probably almost as hard to work on adding pitches being a starter in the majors as it is pitching out of the pen in the majors. If he didn't work on his repertoire this offseason/spring he needs time in the minors. Having him as a Roogy(which is all he is at this point) is a massive waste. Especially on a team that has mostly right handed starters.
  2. Not ever going to happen pitching out of the bullpen in the majors. If he doesn't add a third/fourth pitch I doubt he even becomes a viable pen option.
  3. He's a better fit as starting pitching depth in the minors. He needs to work on his change up,and add a cutter, regardless of whether he pitches out of the pen or not.He cant do it pitching out of the bullpen. The starting staff is going to be 4/5 right handed making for a leftie heavy opposing lineup most nights. This doesn't play to sanchez' strength at all. Unless he suddenly finds a way to get LHH's out he's going to need time in the minors.
  4. Only quirville can change the first game of spring training into a debate on what the national bird should be. #quirvillenoshame
  5. Whatever the qualifying offer is. Sign Edwin to a contract similar to Russ Martin money.
  6. The one silver lining,if there is one, is that if you judged it soley on the last half of last season you would have one of the best starting four in baseball, and a decent chance at having an at least average #5. There could be worse things on a team that projects to have an above average offence, defence, and bullpen.
  7. It's actually you and the rest of quirville that's jumped on the Shatkins bandwagon. They've given up more than they got back in both trades they've made so far. There are legitimate reasons for concern and trading anything for someone who's been a negative asset for two seasons in a row won't do anything to ease those concerns.
  8. He left a lot of money on the table to stay with the Mets. He has a full no trade clause. He'll be tied to draft compensation after 2016. I think he takes the option unless he has another 5+ WAR season.Even then he might still take it.
  9. The guy was a three WAR player his entire career(besides 2015), and wants to play for the Mets. I'd say there's almost no chance he declines the option.
  10. The guy was a three WAR player his entire career and wants to play for the Mets. I'd say there's almost no chance he declines the option.
  11. The big blowout scenario for after we win the World Series in 2016? I'd also take a serious look at Wieters,Edwin,Chapman and Strasburg in the 16/17/ offseason.
  12. Donalson to LAD for P-Julio Urias (#4 mlb top 100) + P-Jose De Leon (#23 mlb top 100) + C-Austin Barns (#9 mlb top 10 catchers) Martin + Happ to SEA for P-Taijuan Walker + C- Mike Zunino +OF-Alex Jackson (#44 mlb top 100) + OF-Brayan Hernandez (#9 mlb top international prospects) Tulo + Estrada to the Cubs for SS- Gleber Torres (#28 mlb top 100) + OF-Billy McKinney (#34 mlb top 100) + P-Duane Underwood (# 67 mlb top 100) Hutchison + Loup to Texas for OF/SS/3B Ryan Cordell (Top 100 to me) + P-Michael Matuella (Top 100 to me) Stroman Walker Sanchez Osuna Urias #4 De Leon #23 Underwood #67 Harris #80 Matuella top 100 to me Reid-Foley Green Pillar Pompay McKinney #34 Jackson #44 Alford #97 Hernandez #9 INT prospect Travis Goins Torrez #28 Cordell Top 100 to me Urena Nay Colabello Vlady JR Tellez Dean Zunino Barnes #9 C prospect Pentacost Jansen Not the worst start to a rebuild in the 16/17 off season? To bad Rogers can't see past 2016. Adding Cespedes and Bastardo would free up 2 more trade pieces for the rebuild AND make TO the odds on favorite for the 2016 World Series. The prospect capital alone gets back the 30M you spend on Cespedes and Bastard.
  13. I'd actually prefer Cespedes. He hits righties better than lefties, plays better defence, can back up CF,slots perfectly into the 5 hole, and might come with a shorter term. Tulo Bautista Donalson EE Cespedes Travis Martin Smoak Pillar Lethal.
  14. I love the way this teams set up. They could go for the gusto in 2016 then do a compete overhaul or, if thier farm shows enough improvement, and a few specs look ready to make the jump they could just continue on as is. Stroman,Pillar,Travis,Osuna,Sanchez,Goins,Colabello,Alford,SRF,Pentacost,Urena,Tellez,Jansen,Vladdy JR(eventually), could be a nice start to a rebuild.Coupled with the picks you get for Bautista and EE,and the trades of Donalson,Tulo,Martin,Happ,Estrada,Hutch,Loup and anyone else that you can get any value out of with two or less years of control after the 2016 season. I could easily see a complete overhaul after this year with only a 1-2 year rebuild. It also wouldn't take much to keep the core and have a very good team as is going forward. It'll be interesting to see which direction they go and should produce a very good team either way. Edit: Another bonus with a complete teardown is that payroll would be so low you could go nuts on the international FA market to help expedite the rebuild.
  15. If Cleveland had an elite development system, and still didn't produce many players out of the ones they drafted, wouldn't that make even more of a case for them being really bad drafting? Your dum.
  16. Tepera Copeland McFarland LeBlanc McCoy Dragmire Jenkins Redmond
  17. 16.1 IP vs LHB - 26 IP vs RHB..........Gibby logic.
  18. They can probably pinpoint,to within a few hundred K, what players will get in arb. Invalid theory is invalid. If there is any budget left it's probably being saved for the trade deadline. People should start accepting that what you see is what you get. Personally, i'm still hoping for Bastardo, but won't be holding my breath.
  19. Nay,Urena,Smoral and Tepera.
  20. You'd eat his ******* and guzzle that s*** like a champ dinger,don't lie.
  21. "The Oil sands are heavily subsidized by the federal government. Oil needs to be trading above $100/barrel for the oil sands to be profitable and it will be trading at that mark in the near future ( at least if you believe the Saudi's)." What you should do is just shut the f*** up.You know not of which you speak. I actually agree that taking a run at Meada is a great idea. However, having a total f***ing moron like you advocate the idea is giving me serious reservations.
  22. If that's the case Smoak plus cash should get a deal done.
  23. Closer to 8/250.
  24. stroman dickey Estrada happ Chavez hutchison sanchez osuna cecil loup Theres a really good chance that's 10/12 of the 2016 pitching staff. With the possible exception of hutch starting in the minors if he fails to win the 5th starter spot in the spring. So 9/12 minimum. That leaves 2-3 spots open. delebar tepera Schultz Jenkins Rowen McFarland Vindette Expect at least 1 and maybe 2 of these to be considered for the pen. Conclusion: This staff needs one more loogy type. Sipp and Bastardo still available for money only. Sign one of the two plus Chris Davis and call it an off season. Now was that really so complicated? That being said I wouldn't be surprised to see them do f*** all except sign afew minor league contracts with spring training invites.
  25. The stupid really comes out on this board whenever one of these rumors surface. Not that it isn't always there,it is,just not usually as prolific. My condolences to NJH as the sole beacon of light in the dark dark place that has become the BJMB brain trust.
