    I was very confused when they were apparently really close to signing Kenley Jansen. They were offering a similar deal as Boston and after that decided the Bullpen was fine? It’s quite clear they need 2 more back end arms. You hope Chad Green can become one of those guys later in the Season but there’s no guarantee he returns this Season or is overly effective if he does. They definitely didn’t do enough to address a clear need. They keep putting band aid over a gushing wound.

    Maybe it’s just me but I don’t think Romano is a relief ace either. He’s just as inconsistent as anyone else in the pen. There hasn’t been a lot of easy innings with him on the mound. His command comes and goes and teams don’t have issues stringing hits together off him. His saving grace is he gets a lot of soft contact but he is by no means shutdown.

    Starters not allowed to go deep into games despite success is just putting more pressure on and overworked and underperforming bullpen. When push comes to shove though. None of our relievers miss bats consistently miss bats enough outside of Trevor Richards.
