  1. I’m getting the vibe Mattingly’s role is more of a passive mentor. Pete Walker is always in John Scheneider’s ear.
  2. I’m shocked they gave Yoshida anything to hit in that situation.
  3. I feel like Pop definitely forgot how many outs there are.
  4. Chapman’s changes were over a longer period of the time as well. It’s from my understanding Chapman starting experimenting with his toe tap and approach beginning in the off-season. Varsho started his changes in Spring Training. Maybe it’s something they can explore again next off-season. But it was pretty evident the approach zapped Varsho’s power and he was hitting a lot of pop ups and weak ground balls trying to go the other way.
  5. John wake up bud. He doesn’t have it tonight. 9 hits in 4+ innings.
  6. This time John. Grab him before the implosion please. He’s clearly fooling nobody tonight. Tons of contact.
  7. Free base runners is dumb. Just get him out.
  8. He tries to tweak everyone its f***ing annoying.
  9. Yup ditch whatever Martinez tried to get you do. We want the Dbacks version of you. Pull power. That’s what the Jays paid a premium for.
  10. I noticed that as well lol. I heard the contact before I saw it.
  11. Vlad is been awful with runners in scoring position so that’s huge.
  12. I would way rather face Vlad then Bo
  13. Second base is free Kiermaier. Take it please.
  14. Looks like all Red Sox pitching needed was the Blue Jays lineup. If you navigate around Bo and Chapman its easy night.
  15. No wonder Red Sox were playing like it was Game 7 of the World Series last night they were pissed about 3-16 last year.
  16. Please make me forget about s*** the last 2 days have been. Thank you,
  17. Vladdy - 1 Point - Bichette - 1 Point - Chapman - 1 Point - JohnHavok Varsho - 2 Points - Springer - 2 Points - Kirk - 3 Points - Jonn Jansen - 3 Points - Kiermaier - 4 Points - JaysBlue Merrifield - 5 Points - JaysAllMighty Off the bench: 10 Points
  18. I probably could but I’m not worried about other teams. I watch a fair share of Baseball I have rarely ever watched this much fall through the cracks. I genuinely believe the vast majority of managers would have came out and argued that missed walk. I remember yelling at my TV last year when he put Ramiel Tapia in LF for Defense when he had Jackie Bradley Jr on the bench. Its a bunch of small mistakes that add up into big consequences. And a lot of us were confused the moment it was made. This isn’t just hindsight. Managers job is to play out a variety of scenarios and prepare for all of them. If he’s incapable of thinking about these things on his feet this isn’t the job for him.
  19. Its part of the formula but its not an exact Science. Its why an in game manager exists to make decisions on the fly when things don’t go perfectly to plan. Like I said its the little things. Removing Merrifield in the 5th slot when you could have simply removed Espinal in the 9th slot. Leading or not that back fired and was easily avoidable. Letting Berriors face 5 straight Left-handed hitters despite his terrible numbers 3rd time through and the fact that he had not been particularly good in the game. He ended up recording zero outs and ended up using Mayza anyway. So why not just use Mayza before that scenario unfolds. And those are just examples in the last 2 games. I could go on and on about his inability to execute simple helpful decisions. He doesn’t even come out to argue Whit not walking the other day. Nobody knew a balk was called. You’re not even going to ask questions? I think I would rather just have a computer manage the team at this point if he’s going to be that lazy. It’s either that or he wasn’t paying attention.
  20. My expectations were to challenge for the division. That needs to be the goal. Jays don’t want to play in another Wild Card series. So start making Division winning decisions in April and May instead of just August and September because they all could the same. If this team falls short of the division by a couple of games. We should definitely remember the games punted at this time of year. There’s nothing wrong with having aspirations for more.
  21. Rays have fans? And I’m not saying it doesn’t happen to other teams. Seems to be a nightly occurrence here. Just the little things he doesn’t think about. And that’s literally his job.
  22. It’s much less about Rogers be willing to pay. It’s the potential to lose draft picks. And avoiding the tax in the future seems impossible. The Jays have so many players to pay. And giving mid rotation arms isn’t helping. We likely won’t be able to afford Chapman, Vlad, and Bo because contracts like Bassit’s exists. That’s extremely annoying. Luckily Ryu comes off the book finally but in arbitration raises alone that quickly evaporates. Jays inability to develop pitching and being forced to overpay Starters in Free Agency is really limiting the Franchise’s potential.
  23. We would likely have to eat another big salary to improve the club. So moving Belts salary and someone else. Belt + Bass + Prospect for Joc Pederson. Something along those lines.
