  1. Sto needs to get that 2SM down if he's going to toss it.
  2. The new mechanical adjustment seems to have really helped him!
  3. Nice to see the 1-2 2SM work there, but it's still an odd choice. Why not toss a slider, it's Lawrie and he K's a ton.
  4. 95 !! Harder than he's thrown all year. His new mechanics seem to have helped his velo a lot.
  5. Yeah, I noticed that as well, and it's been the case for awhile now. Hayhurst's theory on muscle confusion is an intriguing explanation.
  6. Sorry, I meant "muscle confusion". Read this article from Hayhurst, it's pretty good. http://dirkhayhurst.com/2016/06/height-doesnt-measure-heart-but-it-does-measure/ And I'm fairly confident that many of those "4SM" on Brooksbaseball were actually 2SM missing high, since most, if not all, had the same horizontal movement as the 2SM.
  7. Ask yourself this, is Ross Atkins going to throw Stroman under the bus when asked a pointed question about him or is he more likely to protect his image? Stroman has been on record saying he doesn't want to stop being a sinkerball reliant pitcher and we can see him constantly shaking Martin off to throw it in bad counts. We've had guys like Tabler say on the record that "people in the organization" believe the sinker is affecting his other pitches because of muscle confusion in his release point, among other things, yet he continues to throw it a ton.
  8. I still see plenty of 0-2/1-2 2SM, even in the last start. Plenty of his "2SM" missed high and, despite having the same horizontal movement of his 2SM, got classed at 4SM because of location.
  9. Let's hope! He's stubborn as f*** but, at some point, the guy, you would think, would take the advice.
  10. Pitching line predictions for tomorrow? I'm thinking he turns it around with all the days off he had to think and work on things, so: 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 7 K
  11. I hope the gameday or radio feed is working for the Bluefield game!
  12. Homer swings over and over. You'd think after facing 95-99 all night he'd be able to time up 92/93..
  13. Eddy is especially streaky this season .
  14. Best pitch he'll get and he swings through it .
  15. Come on Eddy please come through!
  16. You can't call this out, we've been shafted too many times on calls this close. The play on the field should stand.
