  1. However questionable, I'm not sure anyone should apologize for having an opinion. I cant imagine Farrell or Cito are losing sleep over criticism from this or any forum for that matter. Nor should they. I suspect their both thankful they happened to "manage" teams good enough to get them a ring. I maintain Peter Dinklage could have managed those teams to championships. Heck, if you can replace Gibbons with Dinklage I'm down for sheer entertainment value. Although I would miss Gibbons slow meander to the mound.
  2. I'm certainly fine with being a clever genderless tree. Quite a compliment actually, thank you.
  3. The MVP is Billy Beane. You should give him the award. Jays fans should send him a bouquet of flowers & a Tim Hortons Gift Card.
  4. Of course I have. He's an easy target for fans to lash out at. Managers play a minimal role in the success/failure of a team - the quality of the players is the determining factor. Gibby doesn't play the game, he manages personalities and upholds the culture. His actual 'decisions' often tow the generic historical approaches given a certain situation. Theoretically, You could probably train a charming circus dwarf to do the same. I assure you that dwarf would have a good record with this lineup.
  5. Hopefully Rogers ponies up for Price with all the extra money their getting from TV revenue. Wouldn't bet on it tho.
  6. Sometimes sports fans think of players like an equity in the stock market. It's hard to time the market and usually the best course with a blue chip asset is to just chill. Tulo is a true pro, a stud in the field and lifetime 300 hitter. Hes getting older, but no reason to believe he can't be an elite player for the majority of the years left on his contract.
  7. When he stops stretching he gets into level of excellence. Top three hitters of all-time Jays Who had more than a cup of coffee. Top ten otherwise.
  8. No reason for the hate. Gibbons is great.
  9. I think they have too many road games left. If somehow they swept the Yankees in NY, maybe we can have this conversation.
  10. Let him take Hutchs road starts. Or throw him in the pen. What will likely happen is that he will pitch in NY and regardless of how he fares, he's bringing controversy to the mix because somebody from the starting rotation is about to lose a playoff roster spot.
  11. The Jays won't truly go after Price, but they will give the impression that they did. Maybe chalk it up to 5 year max policy on contracts. No way they pay the 25-30 million a year to get him. Price knows it. AA knows it. Conversation is moot, but I would do it. Even though in 4+ years the contract will likely be awful, this team could be in a window to seriously contend for the next 3 years and he's a great fit to lead the rotation. Won't happen though, so enjoy him while you can.
