    f*** the NHL. Their voting system is flawed... They got caught. They need to not be a punk and take their medicine. John Scott did nothing wrong. He got voted in using the system that the NHL put in place. Nothing wrong with him wanting to go and do something that is a once in a lifetime opportunity for him and something he'll be able to tell his kids and grand kids about.

    Sure you can. The talent was identified and they were able to get him and get him signed. What happens after that is valid, but a different conversation.

    I beyond the 1st round (and even then), I don't know how much you can blame Shapiro. The scouts are the ones that are out there checking these guys out. Shapiro, I'm assuming, would rely heavily on their input. I think his scouts are more to blame than him. That said, I think he should re-evaluate how he evaulates his scouts and what he looks for in a scout. Clearly, the draft record is not so hot.
