The thing with Bruce is that he was so good in 2010 and 2013 that you know the ability is still in there. Plus it's not like he's 35. But that hope thing gets a lot of teams in trouble.

The more I look at it, the more I realize that Jay Bruce is Colby Rasmus, but with less chicken hot dogs, and more right field. #BlueJays

We're hearing rumors that #Reds 2B Brandon Phillips & OF Jay Bruce may be involved in a 3-way deal with the #BlueJays and #Angels.

In 2013, Jay Bruce’s last good season, Brook Jacoby was his hitting coach. So this will all end well.
And if you do that then everything that he said about Blue Jays revenues being mysterious and hinting at them not stepping up becomes a lot more real...
And to be honest, I would totally shop Bautista around...but I would've done that before he opened his mouth today.
It's difficult because the team hasn't been in a playoff position in 20 years. Winning cures almost everything...
I have no problem with Bautista taking on "the man".
Who's getting upset?
The only surprise might be that he showed up on Day 1 and took his dick out on Rogers. I think it's awesome cause as fans, a lot of us have hated the way Rogers have handled this organization for years...but we have no voice. But Bautista has a voice...and to have him lay it out was sweet music.
Ride out 2016. If they underperform and they're out of it, see what someone will pay at the deadline. If nothing really good take the compensation (if his demands are out of this world).
Teams get desperate for depth when the playoffs are nigh. Parenteau is still on the market...possibly Hunwick? I don't see Kadri moving but crazier things have happened.
There is still s*** that can be moved.
That is a weird trade proposal.
I'd be interested in trading for anyone that makes the team better...but it would have to be the right deal.
What we saw in the OP is NOT the right deal.
Leafs trade Shawn Mattias to Colorado for a 4th rounder in 2016 and Colin Smith.
Colin Smith was a 7th round pick a few ago. In his 3rd pro season. He's a throw in to balance player contracts for Colorado. His ELC expires this summer and he'll probably not be qualified.
