He absolutely did some good things, and was a glorious player in his prime. It's amazing how people can't separate the different parts of a person (professional, husband, father, public persona, etc). Some things worked well... Very well... But ignoring the parts that were subpar isn't giving a complete picture.

Most disliked him the same way they dislike Stroman. Douchebag syndrome. Arrogant. Whiner. Just comes across as very unlikable. Can't blame people for being rubbed the wrong way. Most generally like someone who comes across as polite, classy, and had some humility.

It's only fair. JP left him very little to work with in Toronto and AA had to basically build an entire farm system here. So now it's time to see how the other half lives.
