I the game is completely different now. Skill on every line is must. Top 6 and bottom 6 Brian burke nonsense is over
  2. I was always here and commented many times than I was very surprised at how well they were playing. Note sure if you think I'm going that they lose but that's asinine. Is rather be wrong and have them make the post season, but I'm not going to pretend that I see something that I don't.
  3. Agreed. Jansen had been excellent fit over a year now, and SRF has bounced back really well. But seeing as he's repeating AA it's like to see him moved up to AAA to see how he adapts. Also, don't forget about Borucki. He could be closer than either of them.
  4. And yet it seems to be quite accurate.
  5. Who said deals were going to happen anytime before then?
  6. Once people give up the ghost and realise what this team is, my work will be done.
  7. They were never going to be a WC team
  8. July and August. I'm not expecting anything until then.
  9. I'm not expecting to change the entire roster. That's stupid. But when a team sells at the deadline there is every opportunity to make 2-3 seperate deals to contending teams looking for depth in the pen, another starter, or to fill in for some potential injuries in the field. I'm not expecting to haul in a bunch of top 100 prospects. I'm hoping that some pieces are added that can be regular contributors in the future. Some good arms that maybe could fill in in the pen, maybe a potential starter, maybe some higher ceiling guys in A ball that a contending team can afford to part with. We all know how the deadline works, who wants what, and what usually gets moved in terms of specs. My main hope is that this organisation realises that they aren't buyers, they are absolutely sellers, and they aggressively look to start a youth movement in 2019.
  10. There are deadline deals every year. The Jays have to move some of the pieces that are having solid seasons. The pen has been a strength. Move some arms. Solarte, Pillar, Happ. All should be shopped. I would've moved Donaldson last year so moving him now is unlikely cause you're getting 10 cents on the dollar unless he turns it around and goes ape for the balance is the season. Take off your blue Jays coloured glasses for a change. This is a bad team and was a bad team going into the season as much as you don't want to admit it to yourself

They are. Stars are rare (2nd liners). Superstars are very rare 1st liners)
  12. Lol. It's rough right now, guys. But you should've seen it coming. Don't worry. From pain will come pleasure. They'll add some nice young pieces at the deadline and come into 2019 fresh and young. They'll probably struggle a lot next year too, but by 2020 I think they can be back on the road to competing. Good young pieces are close and they'll have some salaries coming off the books in a couple of years.
  13. Probably. Except you're discounting that Rogers could kibosh their "plan" at any given time. Shapiro already admitted he would've blown this up 2 years ago if it wasn't for the attendance at the time. Translation:. Money coming in... Keep it going. Rogers does not provide autonomy. Not with Shapiro, AA, or JP before him. I think it needs to be doused with gasoline and set ablaze, but the guys at the top need to believe it too before they'll allow it.
  14. I agree. But people on this board don't want to hear or believe that so you should probably stop trying to convince them. Maybe they'll come around eventually.
  15. Nothing. People show up for a winner. This team is not that. Attendance will continue to decline until the Jays are serious contenders again. Rogers knows this which is why they wouldn't let Shapiro blow it up 2 years ago. But they might have to let him rebuild fully instead of fielding this facade.
  16. I also don't have to put my hand in a bonfire to know it's hot. This team is not good.
  17. A couple of years after I wanted to but sure...better late than never.
  18. What the f*** is a Guaverra?
  19. I fully expected this Donaldson situation to play out in the worst possible way for the Jays.
  20. So was I. No one gives a s***.
  21. Shat signed Happ. AA traded for him.
