Leafs are 17-14-3 since December 29th. Anyone who thinks they've been sucking just recently is kidding themselves.

That doesn't even make any sense. He's played 53 games this season. If he plays every game for the rest of the season he'll finish with 64. He played 66 in each of the past 2 seasons. That's hardly an absurd amount. Goalies used to play 70, 75, 80 games back in the day. There has to be more to the stat than this. Maybe no goalie in the past 5 years has played more than 66 games and won a cup, I'm sure there have been plenty of goalies that have played more than Freddie and won cups.

Agreed. And I'm concerned about Freddie. This is the second March in a row he's been quite marginal. I hope to god this doesn't linger and carry over like it did last season. We need him sharp. If he is, I really like our chances.

Then have all salaries go to arbitration. Each side presents its arguments, use whatever stats/metrics/fan feedback you want. Arbitrator decides what your salary is for next season. Only 1 year contracts going forward. Bregman wants fairness...that's fairness. Performance based pay.

If it was anyone else on the Jays I doubt anyone would raise that much of a fuss, but Stroman has already assembled quite a menu of DBag behaviour to refer to, so this is just another entree to add to that. His entire existence is built on, 'I'm a small man...but I can do whatever I want cause no one can tell me otherwise.' People with a brain in their head don't give a s*** about that. Be a decent human being, make smart choices, and be the best athlete you can be...that's all many of us want. He's incapable of doing that. -
I have no problem with players being paid what they deserve...so ya...pay him based on what he did last season. HOWEVER...when you have a s*** season, you also get paid accordingly. Doubt the PA is willing to do that though. There's give and take...and if he doesn't like that system then he can go pound salt somewhere.
