  1. Salaries can always be dumped if need be. There are ways to make it happen. If his 2020 is like his 2019, I don't think we'll see him in 2021.
  2. By the time this team is an actual contender again there's a very good chance that only 1 of those names will still be on the roster.
  3. I wonder if they deal Alford in the off season for IFA cap space?
  4. I won't give a s***. My motivation is seeing the Jays win games, win the division, get to the world series, and win that too. I don't f***ing care at all if they win a couple of games against the Yankees that kibosh their home field plans. They're still in a great position to win the world series. The Jays aren't. That's all that matters.
  5. Will he even be out there an hour?
  6. I'll just leave this here...
  7. Always swallow. If you're gonna spit, it's not even worth doing.
  8. People love Alford because he's our own pick. He was a potential 1st rounder that slipped to the 3rd round because of signing issues, and ended up signing for $750k. He has 4 tools (mediocre arm) and is very athletic. We've seen flashes of what he could be capable of and just don't want to admit that he could very well be nothing more than permanent potential. People hate Fisher for the same reason. Loud tools but hasn't been able to put it together at this level... And what's worse, he was traded for 3 pieces. A $5k signing bonus value guy in Stevenson with zero power, that has made A ball his bitch. A rule 5 guy made good, even though he's as replaceable as a lightbulb. And the Messiah himself, Aaron Sanchez, who's shown flashes of brilliance, but has been a bag of s*** since 2016. Let's all admit that Alford, although he has some very nice tools, will most likely be complete s***. He can't stay healthy, struggles, but then shows wonderful flashes. Rinse. Repeat. He's been here 7 years. It's time to move in. Let's also admit that Fisher is probably also a crate of s*** too. Lots of power, lots of speed. Lots of whiffs. Also, he's looked very uncomfortable in the outfield. Is that an anomaly? Maybe... But it's not helping his case when he can't make contact at the plate. And it's not like he's 22 years old. And finally... Sanchez, Biagini, and Stevenson were not valuable assets. Pining over them cause they were moved for a toolsy guy that was likely going to fail is dumb. Bottom line, none of these guys are guys that would have any kind of meaningful impact on a championship calibre team. They are not players worth getting worked up over.
  9. Being correct is allowed...that's why I'm suggesting Alford joins him. Being insufferable about it though?

Leafs sign Marner to a 6 year, $65m deal
  11. Any way we can load Alford and Todd into a canon and fire them both into the sun?
  12. Become an Astros fan. Problem solved.
  13. Money supercedes everything if there's enough money. This is not news. It would take a shitload of money to bring JD back here though. There is zero chance.....ZERO.... That this management group attempts to bring JD back.
  14. The season's almost over, he's an FA anyway. Happy Birthday, take the rest of the season off. Good luck in the future. This is not a big deal.
  15. I guess the best way to look at it is, putting money aside, and just looking at character...is JD the kind of guy you'd want your daughter dating?
  16. I'm sure they'd want to. JD will have multiple offers. It'll come down to $, term, location (where he wants to be).
  17. He had 25 pitches 92mph or higher. Topped out at 94.6.

If he doesn't sign soon I wonder if the better option is to make him sit out the whole season or deal him? I'm not sure you're gonna get full value for him. Who wants this headache?
  19. Well. So much for that.
  20. It's nice to hear stories of athletes that don't make it, but are still able to walk away and have success in other fields. Good for him.
  21. You'd rather watch Sanchez on the IL?
  22. I want to see Vladdy with 150 homers in a season.
  23. You don't know that it is.
