    You're letting emotion make that decision for you. If you look at pure nuts and....."Bolts", Tampa is the gold standard for how to run a franchise in the NHL right now. Whether it works out on the ice is another thing, Tampa always seems to make the right move at the right time. It's impressive.

    I don't have to walk through fire to know it's hot. I don't need to stab myself in the eye with a rusty screwdriver to know it'll hurt. And I don't need to wait until the offseason plays out to know that Shapiro/Rogers/Atkins won't be pursuing Gerrit Cole. But ok.... Let's wait and see anyway.

    If I was a new NHL fan and was looking for a team, I'd lean towards Tampa Bay. They run their organization masterfully. Always seem to be able to get team friendly deals. Trade well. Draft and develop exceptionally well, and are built for sustained success.

    Stroman is so easy to get riled up. It's great.

    Anthony Kay scratched from today's start (back). Pannone in. Really feels like the Jays are trying to lock up that 5th overall pick.

    Cashman said the Yankees weren't very high on Stroman and didn't want to include Frazier in a deal. Said he didn't see Stroman as a difference maker and that he'd likely be in their pen in the post season.

    He's fat and hasn't taken his conditioning nearly seriously enough. That's not writing off. That's stating the obvious.

    The best player in the draft will go 5th overall and the Jays will end up picking 6th. This is what it feels like to be a Jays fan.

    To be fair, Fisher has shown that he's too good for AAA and has earned the MLB audition. Alford has shown flashes, mixed with poor play and injury. He hasn't had near the minor league success that Fisher has had.

    They don't have to do anything if they don't want to. They should look for opportunities, but if they don't want to pull the ripcord on that yet, who's gonna make them.

    Anyone who thought they were going to try and compete next season (and when I say try I mean add meaningful pieces to the roster) is fooling themselves.
