  1. If this is real, it's almost like the A's are saying "f*** it, go Jays"
  2. That is impressuve, I'm sure as the dates draw nearer a lot of those games will sell out...especially against the O's, Yanks, and Rays.
  3. That inning was so long Dickey is no longer pitching on short rest
  4. According to Kevin Barker, this time of year you can throw pitch and swing mechanics out the window. Becomes irrelevant, ya'll. All that matters is if yer a pitcher ya throw strikes, and if yer a batter ya hit them strikes. Living proof that anyone can get on the radio. ANYONE.
  5. Because maybe the Jays sign him? Just using the Dodgers as an example, in 4-5 years who knows what team it will be. My point is someone would be willing to take him on if we had to offload him, but who's to say he's going to be ineffective in 5-7 years? There have been pitchers that have been valuable in later years -- Randy Johnson, Nolan Ryan, etc ...not comparing Price to those guys but it's not just a given that he's going to be an albatross. Plus, we don't have many trade chips left and I don't know of better free agent pitchers that going to be available, so when you have a chance to sign an ace you do it.
  6. If they resign Price to a 5-7 year deal, and he declines in the latter years...trade him. I'm sure the Dodgers or whoever is spending outrageous sums of money at the time would take him on. Meanwhile we'd be competitive for 3-4 more years with Price and Stroman as our top two pitchers and I doubt anyone would be complaining if were contending for that long because attendance would be way up and so would payroll. Not to mention the intangibles he brings and the impact he would have on the rest of the rotation. Stroman in particular could learn a lot from him. Pay the man.
