  1. He made a significant change in his control somehow. A very rare gain in control. We were correct in doubting him based on the knowledge at that time. But I am very happy to be wrong.
  2. I think it was a 4 seam by the three fingers Russ put down and the fact Wallace was under it. Could be wrong though.
  3. Other than Hill, Sale, and Quintana, yes he is.
  4. Kinda a weird trade since Chapman will have pretty much 0 effect on Cubs playoff odds. Its all to overwork him out of the pen in the playoffs.
  5. Well yes I agree, but Sale isnt just a one year guy and it'd probably cost us one of Sanchez or Stroman anyways.
  6. Yes we have the pieces, but at least one would have to come off big league roster.
  7. Harris would be closest to Fedde I guess bjt would have to inlcude another top 10 I would think.
  8. We won 5-3 but Happ allowed five runs. Cool.
  9. Rays asked for Glasnow and Meadows for Archer apparently.
  10. Oops accidentally posted the superior league. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1gmrnLvPPUwdpITeT9t7uwqrucdws2fN8uRRJv_sosGE/edit?usp=sharing
  11. In reality there is no point where you start using one or the other, it's some of each one. Whether it is 95% FIP and 5% RA9 or 50/50, you should still use both numbers.
  12. You don't have to believe in using RA9 WAR, you can even just add his DRS to his fWAR and you get 0.8 so far.
  13. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/12xs1z5w6M_8DSE0J0OzX6hIVLjCtnSJHmwF0dQks-fA/edit?usp=sharing
  14. Yes he posted in BBDL thread that he took Mario Feliciano
  15. Who told you that?
  16. If we acquired Dickey for Gose and JPA, as originally speculated, nobody would hate him right now.
  17. Obviously depth is important but that doesnt mean we would get value out of acquiring pitching. A team without 5 or 6 good starters has more of a need for a starter (think Baltimore) than we do. They would be improving 1-2 WAR with an average starter while we would add nothing except injury protection. This means that we would have to pay the same price for pitching when it is worth more to other teams than us. The depth is not worth the price just because of what we already have. Getting someone better than than what we have would help though, as it would actually improve both our in-season rotation and playoff rotation. This is why the only pitcher I would want is Rich Hill.
  18. Not much experience with baseball lol.
  19. We have 6 average or above starters. We dont need another one as that would not improve anything unless we got an ace (Hill). Bullpen is fine unless we got an elite arm (Miller or Chapman). Neither are likely. Adding average to average just bumps an average guy down and doesnt do anything to improve. This is diminishing returns. Improving over offense weak spots (Carrera and a 1B platoon) creates immediate gain and you dont lose much. In fact improving the offense is exponential as it creates more PAs for JD, EE and co.
  20. Why? We dont need pitchers. Theres not a lot of leverage to be had there. A good bench bat and Smoak platoon would be great though.
  21. No thanks on Upton.
