    I really liked Hoffman and still do. But I doubt he's the difference between a total fleecejob and us getting fleeced. It's still a good trade value wise, but f***, I really hate seeing Hoffman go.

    Certainly seems to be going in that direction, and that's really mostly Thor. TDA, I'm not too salty losing, since we now have Martin and D'Arnaud may not be able to stick at C with all the injuries mounting, but Thor is definitely the gigantic blow. I wasn't here on these boards at the time (posted elsewhere), but I was beyond angry at Syndergaard being included. I understood D'Arnaud - you gotta give to get and there were injury question marks and doubts he'd stick at C, but losing Syndergaard is what really made it overkill and just made me hate the trade in general.

    I have him projected to be a number 4 guy going forward. I just don't like that move for the Mets.

    Rajai Davis? Lets see... horrendous defender, zero baseball IQ, and can only hit lefties and run. Seems so... anti-Cardinal. Him and Corey Patterson might've been the dumbest ever OF in baseball history here in Toronto.

    If we do trade Edwin, I would like to see us go after Cespedes in FA. He'd be a nice guy to get to replace Edwin. You just rotate the corner OF (Cespedes, Saunders, Bautista) into the DH spot with Bautista getting the lion's share of DH time (Saunders in left and Cespedes in right), being the worst defender and oldest guy. Smoak can be full time 1B and play DH once in a while Jose goes to 1B for those occasions.

    Don't the Jays receive money from the commissioner's discretionary fund to help out with F/X expenses? I don't know if they get a lot but they get something at least, I'd think. Like, $15M?

    That's the 1 big issue I have with Ross. Walks are a bit up this year, not really his greatest strength in the first place. His ability to get K's and soft contact is real good and he is elite at generating grounders. If he could knock down those walks a tad, he'd be a legit ace IMO.

    Not sure how to feel about this. Maybe taking Kimbrel's contract is a requirement to get Ross? Besides, Kimbrel, as good a reliever he is, does make a ton of coin. I know Ross is hella valuable, but I can't imagine Kimbrel's value being the greatest with that contract, even with his pedigree.

    Buehrle's a #4/5 guy ideally. Most of those types get moved to the pen in your standard 3 man rotation in the playoffs. Unless a team wants to go 4 man in the DS to get the ace in for game 5, then sure, Buehrle can start game 4. I'm talking from a playoff team's perspective, not necessarily ours.

    Yeah, I highly doubt a reliable, but back of the rotation guy is really on most bucket lists, especially at that coin and especially with shortening rotations in the playoffs. Not sold on Buehrle out of the pen.
