  1. If that one was pulled to dead left, that might've been a HR in this park.
  2. Lol Chase Utley and his .282 OBP leading off. Christ, I remember when he averaged higher than that alone and had an .800+ OPS, was a top 5 player in his prime. Too bad the injuries came.
  3. I don't know why but I have a feeling that Gibbons will go full La Russa and have the pitcher batting 8th and Revere 9th.
  4. Joba Chamberlain signs a minor league deal with the Royals. Hmmm... Ah, so that's why they signed him. Joba the Hutt should be a perfect fit, then.
  5. It's not just this year for money, though. Think of next year. Cola isn't even arb eligible for another 2 years while Valencia is already making $1.6M and with the season he's had, will probably get a hefty raise in arb. We're talking about him probably making double what he's making now, so you're likely saving just around $3M next year not having Valencia, which can go to FA or the Price pool.
  6. Great thanks earned to posts ratio. Also, better than Kodos.
  7. http://i.imgur.com/utgan3A.gif http://www.somegif.com/gifs/1363863597925139587.GIF That's one you just have to drop the mic after and bask in the ownage.
  8. I think Tulo's "funk" is being vastly overstated. Tulo's LD/GB/FB have been 25/40/35 and his BABIP .244 as a Blue Jay. A LD% of 25% is very good. He's hitting the ball nice and hard. He's just getting rotten luck with hard hit balls finding gloves. He'll be fine.
  9. The Red Sox have scored 37 runs in the last 2 games. That's, like, probably what was considered a good month for the Mets before they added those bats at the deadline.
  10. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/trevor-bauer-towards-better-pitching-through-science/ Great read on Bauer and how he's actually trying to really scientifically improve his pitches. It's a real fascinating read.
  11. 2 runs, 3 hits, 6 IP. Not sure what more you want, that's fine.
  12. Eovaldi's actually decent ever since he started using that splitter more. I just keep expecting Estrada to fall off the face of the earth. Hutch... meh. His underlying numbers have been good but it's not like every circumstance that makes up that gap is just bad luck. Complete inability to shut down the run game or field his position. He may have the worst pick off move in baseball (better than having none at all, I suppose, Mr. Jon Lester). Not a whole lot of grounders either.
  13. Price >> Tanaka Buehrle = Pineda Dickey < Eovaldi Estrada <<< Nova Hutch <<< CC If this was a playoff series, we'd have the edge with a 3 man, but Estrada is bound to fall off the face of the earth and Hutch have been terrible, which completely sinks our rotation against a decent Nova and CC.
  14. I'm fine with Price starting the 8th. I'm not fine with Sanchez over Lowe in a situation where you need K's and you bring in a contact guy over a guy with 13+ K/9 strikeout machine numbers.
  15. Best wishes to Farrell. That's just terrible. At least it's stage 1, so it should be treatable since they caught it early. f*** cancer.
  16. Yeah, it's definitely happened before. I believe a player traded from the Rangers to the Cardinals in 2011 when that was the year they met in the WS. EDIT: Yup, it was Arthur Rhodes.
  17. Lol f*** Kenny Williams. I want no part of the guy who has crooked us into taking damaged goods twice. Second time didn't burn us since Molina busted in Chicago's farm, but still. Cherington is dreadful. He pretty much fluked his way into a WS by complete accident and it's clear that was a massive outlier since the other 3 of the 4 years (2012-2015) he's been GM, the Red Sox have been complete s*** with pretty much the same nucleus of players.
  18. I've been a fan since 02. Of course, I was just 7 at the time. Only around 2006-07 did I really begin to get a full understanding of how everything works in baseball and actually really was able to form my own legit opinions on the Jays.
  19. "Osuna Matata, bitches!" 11 straight!
  20. Pillar is really the JaVale McGee of baseball. What a f***ing dumbass.
  21. Someone should pick up Revere and rattle some sense into him to f***ing run. There's no reason not to run with 2 outs and no one else on in that spot. If you get thrown out, Josh leads off next inning. If not, he drives you in on any outfield hit now in scoring position.
  22. Why the f*** is Revere even here if we're not gonna use his speed. Don't give me our offense as an excuse, that's a terrible excuse. Reyes had no problem stealing.
