The fanbase has gone full retard... assuming we're going to win the division, or make the play-offs, because of a thrilling and lucky win-streak. Nope, the Blue Jays are not better than the Yankees... the projections say it's basically a toss-up and the Yankees have the edge. You should be excited at the prospect of your team being in legitimate contention down the stretch for the first time in 20 years and leave it at that. Don't assume they're going to make the play-offs or the wild card or anything, or you could be in for a world of misery.

I totally agree with this but find it convenient that the argument is only used when it is in someone's best interest. For example what is Goins capable of with everyday at bats over the course of a full season? Nobody wants to make that argument because it's taboo around these parts.

To be fair morale was boosted 500%+ when Reyes left the team (secretly though as nobody wanted to be the outlier) and thus began the winning streak.

It's more a remark about the usage of Smoak. He's not exactly a world killer if you go by WAR and most people here do... therefore complaining about Gibbons not using him all of the time seems somewhat unjustifiable.
