  1. The Blue Jays suffered a tough loss to the Rangers in game 2 when they lost 6-4 in extra innings after Stroman had pitched a great game. The circumstances were different in that there wasn't any glaring miscues that caused the loss. However, what is similar is that they now have a day off to regroup prior to the 3rd game.
  2. The good thing is that Stroman pitches in game 3 and will liekly have a great outing. Then Dickey can throw them off with his knuckleball.
  3. Goins took blame for it, as he should have. He waved Bautista off, so there was no confusion on Bautista's part. I wouldn't say Bautista threw Goins under the bus. Bautista looked shocked when Goins stopped and the ball dropped. That one play shows how one miscue can completely change the direction of a ball game, and it wasn't even recorded as an error.
  4. I heard it also and thought it was Goins. Goins said in the post-game interview that he thought he heard someone call for it, but that he didn't. Goins took the blame for it as he should. I think a fan or fans must have called for it.
  5. The missed popup by Goins certainly hurt the Blue Jays. This is where stats just don't tell the real story. The missed popup wasn't even recorded as an error, but as a hit. The Royals also stayed out of a double play by stealing 2nd in the 7th on a ground ball. It is a sad result, however the Blue Jays have a couple of days to regroup and will hopefully be able to hit some homeruns at the Rogers Centre, which they couldn't do in Kauffman Stadium.
  6. Unbelievable, the number 1, 2 and 3 guys couldn't get Goins in from 2nd base with none out. The Blue Jays will need the 7, 8 and 9 guys to drive the runs in today.
  7. The shadows won't be a factor for Pillar, Goins and Revere.
  8. What bad luck. Martin hit that so well and it turns into a double-play.
  9. That is a nice swing by Edwin that shouldn't re-injure his hand. Now a nice hit by Colabello.
  10. I have always enjoyed BBBB posts, and I am sure that 90% of the people on this forum want BBBB to remain on this forum.
  11. Please define "pure entertainment-based content".
  12. It really peeves me when people think that baseball should be "taught" as if it is some university level statistics course. For goodness sake, baseball is sports entertainment; just enjoy it for what it is. It is fun to discuss it, but why analyze it to death?
  13. This is what he posted: I believe that you are a moderator here NorthOf49, so responding honestly might get me banned but to answer your post: Sabermetrics are advantageous when accepted as an imperfect science. Even Sabermetric pioneers such as Bill James don't fully agree with all the Sabermetrics - http://mlb.nbcsports.com/2014/10/29/bill-james-not-a-statistical-guru-not-impressed-by-war/
  14. Regarding Encarnacion and his injured finger: maybe if he takes shorter swings he might actually have more success in Kauffman Stadium in the relatively cool weather since it will be tough to hit no-doubter home runs anyway. I don't think Encarnacion needs his usual, full, mighty swing to hit the ball well.
  15. None (only regular season games). Am I the only one who prefers to watch on TV in the comfort of my home?
  16. Time to focus on this game and get back into a good mood. http://rlv.zcache.ca/yellow_big_grin_smiley_with_missing_teeth_plate-rffb996f3b9c044de93bc98dca28e7e6b_ambb0_8byvr_512.jpg
  17. Yes exactly, team performance is the most important.
  18. Even a smiling Tulowitzki avatar doesn't mask what a troll you are.
  19. False, the Blue Jay team did much better even prior to the trade. Even with Reyes at SS and Goins at 2nd base the Blue Jays were well above .500. They were 10 games below with Travis at 2nd base. I posted that info before.
  20. Like you said: "Please stop." I just want to see the blue Jays win today and win the WS. Whatever happens next year then so be it.
