  1. I don't know if the Blue Jays can score another 11 tomorrow, and they might have to.
  2. They are bringing Osuna in. Why? They might need him the next two games. I understand that they need to win but they need to win another 3 after today.
  3. Ben Revere looks like he is in pain. Looks like the upper body to me (the way he grimaces when he swings).
  4. The next two games will be big. If the Jays win tonight (as they should) but only take 1 of the next 2 then they have to win the final 2 games in Kansas City.
  5. Yeah. Blue Jays are wiping the smiles off the Royals faces!!! Where are the Royals posters now?
  6. The Blue Jays can let up for one at-bat. This Kansas City Royals team is going for the series kill.
  7. Zobrist is such an amazing player. How did Tampa let him get away.
  8. That is what they need. Goins came through.
  9. Every fly ball by Revere is an out. His BABIP on fly balls must be 0.000
  10. Thank you Pillar. Now let's shut them down.
  11. Ben Zobrist is the player that scares me the most on the Royals team. He always seems to come through.
  12. Thank you for that useful piece of information. I am not sure if you are calling me a dick or yourself for pointing it out, but who cares. Like everyone else, I am just pointing out the obvious while waiting for the game to start.
  13. The Blue Jays chances of winning the ALCS go way up if they win tonight.
  14. I wonder if The Royals might have been stealing signs from an outfield camera (or just by watching the TV broadcast); if so then they don't even need a man on 2nd base. It has been done before and has produced success; there are several examples in this article - http://bfc.sfsu.edu/cgi-bin/unwritten.pl?Never_steal_the_catcher_signs._-_Baseball. Here are some excerpts: And Roger Maris' history-making season in 1961 was achieved with the help of another Code quirk — its tolerance of stealing pitcher’s signs, which is just a normal part of the game according to the Code. When Maris stepped to the plate to take a swing at a record-breaking 61 home runs, a whistle from the third base coach let him know that a fastball was on the way. Cleveland Hall of Famer Bob Feller brought a military-grade gun sight back from World War II. After an August slump, the team used it to set up a spy station in their scoreboard that led them to a 19-5 resurgence, and the 1948 World Series championship. Teams have used fake TV cameras in the outfield, flashing lights in their scoreboards, and even buzzers wired from the bullpen to the clubhouse, as Bobby Thomson's '51 New York Giants did in going 20-5 en route to his infamous "Shot Heard 'Round the World" playoff homer. If the Royals are stealing signs then hopefully it will be more difficult in the Rogers Centre.
  15. An article on David Price's outing yesterday - http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/perplexing-start-from-blue-jays-price-defies-explanation/ David Price doesn't feel that he was rattled by Goins missing the routine fly ball in the 7th. . . . This kind of outing defies explanation — or at least an easy one. Price said the Zobrist pop up that dropped near Ryan Goins didn’t rattle him. It’s not the first time he’s had fielders miss opportunities behind him. He actually felt his pitches were sharp during the Royals’ seventh inning rally. “I don’t think I struggled. It’s frustrating, but I didn’t struggle,” he said. The Royals had a similar assessment. There’s no doubt Price was on early — “just dominant,” in Zobrist’s view — but the left-hander kept making pitches during the rally. “The pitches he was throwing were still as effective as they were earlier in the game,” Hosmer said. Across the hall in the Blue Jays’ clubhouse, Russell Martin offered a similar assessment. “The ball was still coming out the same,” he said. “They fouled off some good pitches.” . . . I watched the 30 minute version of the game on Sportsnet (ALCS in 30) and the Kansas City Royal hit good pitches. So I have to agree with the article, it didn't seem like David Price struggled in the 7th, the Royals were just very good at hitting the ball that inning (along with some luck). However, the missed play still effected the outcome by giving the Royals one extra out.
  16. The cool weather has an effect on how far the ball travels. If it were the summer and hot in Kansas City then I would agree with you. I really think the Blue Jays will have trouble hitting home runs in the cool Kansas City weather.
  17. I believe you are right. On top of that is the fact that Goins is less assertive than Pillar and doesn't want to aggressively take charge with an All Star veteran like Bautista.
  18. I think the Blue Jays have a good chance of winning 2 of 3 at the Rogers Centre, where they can swing for the fences and actually get home runs. I am far less optimistic that they can win 2 games in Kansas City, where it is more difficult to hit home runs, since the Blue Jays aren't accustomed to cutting down on their swings to string together a few hits. However, I will look forward to the 1st game in Toronto and all the other games until they are eliminated or make it to the World Series. Goins is with the Blue Jays because of his glove, whenever Goins misses a play like he did yesterday, it makes it much easier for the Blue Jays to justify sending him down to AAA or keeping him on the bench in the majors in 2016. Goins is very much like Darwin Barney, he has a very short leash and can't afford to make costly mistakes. I even wonder if we will see Pennington take Goins place at 2nd base in game 3.
  19. I am still peeved at Goins. Why did he literally sit down on the play like a 12 year old kid? If he had of just stopped then he might of still had time to catch the ball once he saw that Bautista had stopped. I am a bit less of a Goins fan today. That was a real bone-head play but at least he took the blame for it.
  20. that is a good one Streetor: http://www.bluejaysmessageboard.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1315
  21. Yes, I forgot about that. I guess the big difference is that the Blue Jays came back and even took a lead so the miscues were mostly overlooked.
