Dominican authorities will no doubt try to hide the fact they were drinking because doing so would remove the chance for their family to get a large accidental insurance payout from his MLB insurance.     It was off spanish language websites. Have you seen the video his GF took minutes before the accident showing them with no seatbelts and with open alcohol in the car?

    latest is that he and his girlfriend were drinking all afternoon and she posted a a video before the crash where neither was wearing a seatbelt and a shot of what looks to be open alcohol in the car. There goes the million dollar mlb insurance payout for accidental death to his family.

    when the jays won the world series it was a hot destination for players. They had a brand new innovative cutting edge stadium that was the envy of the league. Now it looks like a cement toilet bowl with astro turf compared to other stadiums

    Beyond the young pitchers he brought up this year, the minor league talent is depleted. As a result they had to use guys like Francisco when they had injuries this year.

    actions speak louder than works. And the results from AA and Gibbons have been negative.

    I have said all along that Showalter was a big difference, but everyone says managers make little difference.

    Exactly they are not like the government who spends and wastes taxpayers money like it's going out of style. They have to try to maximize shareholder value. I would have told AA no more money also after that disaster last year and now this year.

    He will get at least one more year because the media has already decided that they promised AA 3 years after his big trades that haven't worked out. As if anything magical is going to happen next year when Rogers likely won't give him much more to spend and the AL east back to normal next year.

    If you listen to all the big wigs in the media like Bob McCown ect they all think Gibbons is great and shouldn't be fired. So AA just listens to the overall consensus from these guys.
