Executives are under real pressure to sustain improved numbers whether financial or other metrics In Canada hockey is a mature market. While there is growth it is limited. The growth in the baseball numbers in the last two years has been unprecedented for Rogers. There is no going back. When you have a million plus watching every night you can't go back to 500k. Jobs are at stake. Shapiro is smart as well. Whatever happens this year future is bright for the Jays. As for MLB 8 playoffs spots are coming. You can book that too. With the way attendance has declined they will be jumping on that bandwagon soon enough

Yes but now it is proven that the Jays can make a lot of $$ for Rogers. Rogers has a real incentive to do well for the Jays unlike before AA when Jays were just content Going forward Rogers media will want to sustain the attendance and television numbers. To do this they will spend $$. A model of success has been created. That is the important part

Same here If anyone even mentions the Jays I snap This year I actually looked up how to be less of a fan. I never remember feeling like this. I take the s***** feeling everywhere. Other years were different Even 2014 I didn't feel like this we were leading then not doing well but it wasn't like this. I pray that they at least make the WC

I'd qualify both Saunders and Bautista. The risk is limited. 1 year only Upside is there EE is as good as gone

Shapiro knew the right thing to do The right thing to do was to put him in the pen. They bulked based on Media and Fan Pressure, and came up with some 6 man rotation s***. The end result is what we are looking at now.

Shapiro didn't stand his ground on Sanchez either. He wanted to move Sanchez to the pen but gave into media and fan pressure AA saved this city and its fanbase. Regardless of what happens this year, this market cares about baseball again. What has Shapiro done? Traded for a couple of retreads and backed of on his own convictions.

We were really screwed by umpires today. Biagini threw a fastball right at the letters to Pedroia and they called it a ball. We didn't help, but the umpires had a result in mind before the game started.
