  1. Yes how dare he look at the primary objective of an organization to determine its success He should look at noisy deep rooted metrics to determine if an organization is successful
  2. When Sanchez comes back he should be used to bolster the bullpen.
  3. They are leading their division
  4. ^ Matt Garza is a guy I'd like to see the Jays go out and get. Theyd be taking on his 2016 and 2017 years as well, but he is only 31. He hasn't pitched that well this year, so the Brewers might be willing to let him go to a team that takes on the contract. Unless he has a no trade clause.
  5. hmmm where have i heard that before, 3 years ago....
  6. Don't think that convo starts without Hoffman
  7. Hamels has already said he will decline any trades to Toronto
  8. I'll never forget that game against the Redsox last year after Jays swept Tampa and were just hanging on. In the 8th Gibby used Pompey to pinch run for Goins. And then used Tolleson ad the fielding replacement. Later on Navarro got on and we had no pinch runner. Jays doubled and Navarro could only muster up to get to third Redsox scored in bottom tenth to w in the game
  9. Oh and here is a stat John Gibbons 494 Wins 502 Losses, despite being handed both the current and the previous Gm's best built teams. He has had 3 or 4 teams that were not just capable of going to the playoffs but would have gone to the playoffs under any competent manager.
  10. Why dont you just say the truth The truth is that in your attempt to simply the game of baseball, you and those like you have adapted a numbers based system that you can live with, stripping the human element out of the game which you dont understand. The problem is that it takes an understanding of baseball, experience, and careful examinations to understand the subjective element. It takes time and fangraphs to understand numbers. Since the former you can never have, the latter's value you exemplify.
  11. No they decide who hits, who pitches and who catches the ball.
  12. Managers absolutely effect the outcome of the game, it is borderline nonsensical to say so otherwise. They might have lessor impact on games that are decided by 3-4 runs, but for games decided by 1 run, or 2 runs, they have a huge impact Last time I checked Jays were terrible in close games.
  13. really how so So production not leading to wins indicate that the manager is doing a great job. Jays should be a .600 team best on player production. Players produce or stop runs. Mangers turn those runs into wins and losses.
  14. Starting pitching is still garbage, The offense is making up for it with the bat. Just like it was in April and May but atrocious bullpen management, and a lack of strategy was costing Gibby Games You have to be a terrible manager to get to 500 wins in MLB despite being a below .500 manager. When Gibby got fired by the Jays, he didn't get a single interview for another MLB managerial position.
  15. Thats what you think. However how many people here were actually around to see Cito manage. Not many.
  16. Not extra wins. No such thing as extra wins. Yes the manager has that much impact. The manager is the one deciding who pitches at what particular time, he is the one deciding to put a DH in left field. According to fangraphs, Colabello has cost us 10 runs by playing lf this season. thats almost 2 games. Isn't that a managerial decision, or does Colabello just wake up and say I am playing left field today and no one can stop me The Jays are winning right now in-spite of Gibbons, because even his total incompetent management cannot hold back this team from achieving success.
  17. http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/rpi
  18. why Just because the team is over .500, the manager is good. Just look at the run differential, with a 68 positive run deferential Jays are 3 games over .500. The Cardinals with almost the same run differential are 21 games over .500. Their players are producing the same as our players, yet they are 18 games better than us.
  19. Just BC the Gibby has managed not to screw up in the last 10 games doesn't make.up for the first 53 Jays would be 7-8 games over .500 with another manager
  20. If anyone but King opens a GDT they should be banned on spot
  21. After that I am sure we will lose tonight Thanks jaysfan2014
  22. How much of that had to do with the Howarth wake up call
  23. Right now Harang is an improvement over Dickey
  24. Aaron Harang is also pitching well. Id take him.starting over Dickey
