    Masterson has been awful in Boston, but he is on a one year deal, and has started of terrible in the past. With the Redsox crashing and burning, i would give serious consideration to taking him off Boston's hands for nothing in return. Would cost us remainder of the year 5M - 6M, but it could be worth it.

    these are good points, however I think his production is good enough for his bat to play in LF. I don't know about what kind of a LF he will be defensively, he is very athletic so i have to question why he would struggle so much. I think he can atleast be average.

    Problem is that most of his WAR is offensive, and he should be able to produce the same out of LF without hurting the team defensively.

    They made the playoffs. They won 88 games, more than the Jays have done in 22 years.

    Since both Travis and Reyes are both fragile, why not keep Goins in the middle infield, and have one of them DH and the other one get routine rest. You can also go bat heavy on days, and have Encarnacion DH, This just creates more flexibility. Goins defense is huge. He is a rally killer and a wonderful defender. If its him at 2B instead of Valencia the other night, maybe that double play is turned.

    His luck streak ended a week ago He has had a few bloop singles since then. He rarely gets anything more than a single. Usually comes up in key at bats

    Yeah that's right. I wanted him to sign free agents. So that the only resource expanded was money. Also given our young members of the rotation holding on the depth we already had would have been good (happ)
