This would be easy to take if we just saw what is the plan on improving this team. I mean we can't be done here A trade for a Dyson would more than make up for this or adding a good reliever even. Realistically what kind of offer could Cleveland and Oakland have made. It's only the Texas teams and I can't imagine Houston paying much aftet all their DH options EE is a DH He will wind up in Texas

Yeah I find it interesting that there isn't more pressure on Shapiro from Rogers to retain the big stars for Ratings. Maybe we overestimate how much ratings mean to Sportsnet. Maybe after Hockey they just dont give a f***.

In MLB its very hard to have a good rotation and be in last place. It just doesn't work like that. In the regular season Starting Pitching is pretty much the first variable that impacts the win loss record. Even if one or two starters go down, it is still a decent rotation. What is a negative is not taking advantage of a very good rotation, Boston obviously has a better rotation, as does Cleveland, but after that I find it hard to believe anyone in the AL is better. This team will be right there in the Wild Card Race.

I believe that Shapiro is overrated His inability to make decisions and take risks destroyed the Indians for a generation plus. He wrongly gets the credit for the Indians success in 2016 when it was the risky Andrew Miller trade that resulted in the Indians success. With him in charge the Indians probably under achieve after all it was Andrew Miller who put them over the top

I'm afraid we may see this regime take an expensive contract similar to what they have done with Upton and Liriano I could be wrong but I see that as the likely scenerio for the remaining payroll space. The name Jay Bruce comes to mind,it is a name highly regarded by Shatkins Is Bruce an average hitter. No not according to projections Is Bruce an average fielders. No he maybe as worse as Bautista Is Bruce a busy body that this team can acquire, sink payroll cost into, just for the sake of saying Hey look we did something Yes Bruce is Shapiro's dream
