Both years I felt like we were the better team, just don't understand what happened in the ALCS. 2015 Royals were lucky as f***, f***ing Donaldson raped that ball, some horrible calls, stolen homeruns, and BABIPd to death. 2016 Indians got into our hitters head. the Andrew Miller threat created a scenario whereby the had to score of the starters, and just created a viscous circle of trying to hard and failing. I hate the playoffs where the relief pitchers matter so much. MLB should cap off reliever innings in the playoffs, similar to overs are capped in Cricket.

That $165M Number is not bad, especially considering how low the long term commitment is. Most of the contracts expire in 2 or less years, with only Tulo and Martin extending beyond. If this team isn't successful, it would be easy to shed at the deadline. We really need to go for it. I think Navarro is the right backup catcher for this team, though I think you can roll with Pompey or Upton in LF, and allocate remainder to relief pitching.

To make the offseason a good one we need a platoon LF (there are so many cheap options) and a lefty reliever. With those two additions I would be comfortable with saying that we will be in talks to be a playoffs team. Lot of variables, but we will have an exciting year either making the wild card, or competing and coming close to one. You never know what can happen. If both Sanchez and Stroman take a step forward at the same time we can win the division too,.

IMO Bautista is a better hitter than Edwin and will out perform Edwin with the bat for the next three years. People might think this is crazy but they just don't understand how good this guy's eye really is. They could both have big years to come, but its just my opinion. Edwin has all the makings of a power hitter who will struggle big time due to loss of bat speed, where as Bautista's has a great eye at the plate, f*** we could have kept Edwin too.

You know what I bet Shapiro did some hard scouting around the league and probably the answer came back that no one was willing to surrender that draft pick, and that he was probably going to have to either take a really low dollar amount or sign in June.

Rosenthal is saying its a 2 year 35-40M. Certainly fits in with the Donaldson/Tulo/Martin/Happ/Estrada Competition window. I would not mine this, especially if we can do $15M this year and $20M Next year, allowing us to bring on Moss and Blevins
