I'd be more inclined to accept this if there wasn't so much in question for next season and the years after. They really do need to make a playoff run this year.
This is garbage. Didn't people think the Jays would have a great chance at rolling over Kansas City last year? Anything can happen in the playoffs.
To wish for them to miss the playoffs when they have a team that is easily capable shows you aren't a true fan.
??
The offence was firing on all cylinders in the series before that and then they made three consecutive shitballers look better than they are for the Orioles. They're lucky they won that series.
How much is Gibbons really affecting this hitting though? He's not the one putting all of the players in a slump precisely when they should be rearing to go.
I don't even really care about out of town scoreboards right now. The problem lies with the Jays vs. anyone else. They could've seized a healthy lead given the hiccups the A's and Padres have given the Red Sox. Instead they go 1-5 against the f***ing Rays and patch job Yankees.
What the actual f***...
Normally I would agree, but making a series of average/poor starters look a lot more talented than they really are over the past 10 games or so is really getting worrisome.
It's like some of these guys expected something huge to happen at the deadline like last year or something, because that's when it mainly started (really s***** August at the plate somewhat bailed out by pitching).
No they are right where they should be generally in terms of run diff, but for the last month and a week there has been no consistency in the offence whatsoever. It's like there's no fire lit and they're running on smouldering embers.
