  1. I have to disagree on that. I think Happ has really come along, and is throwing 94 late into games. Aside from the fact that he is a Lefty, Lefties who can pitch late into games with a mid 90s fastball are hard to come by. somehow he has found a couple of MPH on his fastball (A little help maybe?) Edwin Jackson is walking 4 per 9 innings, and has given up more hits than innings pitched. I'd steer clear, this is not our older brother's Edwin Jackson.
  2. Whats there to discuss. A contender went out there and made themselves world series favorites. Its the kind of trade good organizations make.
  3. The difference is being made right now. 4 out of next 5 are lefties. Seriously get Prado on this team ASAP, a career .800OPS hitter against lefties. Get this guy now. Dont wait, do it now.
  4. Would you take Edwin Jackson over JA Happ right now. I wouldn't. All 5 of the Jays starters are better than him
  5. With the emergence of Stroman, this team does not need a starter. This team needs a right handed bat, and it needed it Yesterday. How many games do we have to lose to lefty pitching because AA does nothing. 3 Whitesox lefties dominated us. These are games we should be winning. Shame on Alex for sitting there and watching. If this thing goes downhill, I hope he loses his job
  6. They can't hit lefties at all. Other than that they would still be leading the division by 3 games right now. Unfortunately AA has absolutely no plan to address the issues. He sat on his but and watched three straight White Sox Lefties eat us up. Today he saw another. Jays will face Lefties 4 out of next 5 starts. Makes you wonder if he is even trying? In all of baseball there isnt even one right handed bat available. Its all scouting scouting scouting. Jays are scouting Hill, Jays are scouting Headley. Seriously stop scouting. These are MLB players playing for years. You still don't know what they can do? He should be addressing this problem today. Not at the trade deadline, not at the all star break, Today. We aren't asking for David Price or James Shields. For the love of God get a right handed batter here who can at least hit average
  7. Anyways I am not upset about the deal. The Jays simply did not have the prospects. Furthermore, I dont think that Shark is that good, and a starter shouldn't be on the top of the Jays list. Having said all that, its time to pull the trigger. What bothers me is the waiting. By not addressing the position player issue, this team is throwing games away. Is there any plan to help us with the lefties, cause we face two more in Anaheim. So what is Alex's plan? Send Glenn and Mastro out there against lefties and hope for the best?
  8. So for the As is Tommy Milone out of a job? Assuming they keep Gray, Kazmir and Chavez in the rotation. Jays wouldn't matchup as good partner, but I thought he was fantastic on the mound today. Good looking lefty
  9. I still can't believe this deal. The Athletics now have to be favorites to win the world series. Amazing. Doing whatever it takes to win a world series. Got to admire that.
  10. No but McGowan was. That didn't turn out well what about Romero how fast did he lose it. Cecil was a top prospect and we heard for years from Wilner on how Cecil will be 1A to Halladays 1. This team has the equivalent of manram/Ortiz of the early 2000s. Redsox turned into multiple championships. Jays are about to waste Encarnacion n Bautista
  11. And I don't think if people have noticed but free agents do not want to come to Toronto and will not come to Toronto You could have a hundred million freed up. Understand they do not want to come to Toronto
  12. We had the second best pitching staff in baseball in 2008 and it wasn't enough. We had 4 good starters it wasn't enough The bluejays will never have two big bats like Bautista and EE again. Once they are gone they are gone.
  13. This team will not make the playoffs in its current condition This future you dream off we have already dreamt off for years with Marcum n McGowan and then with Cecil Romero and Morrow It won't happen. Guys will get hurt. Guys will get worse. Furthermore jays won't have two top ten bats in all of baseball. Guys like Bautista and Encarnacion will cost $30M a year in free agency Now is the time. If this team does not make the playoffs future jays team will not have money to compete against $300 payrolls. Fan support will collapse
  14. Brad Glenn is good at hitting pitchers who are terrible journeyman
  15. If Brad Glenn isn't sent back to AAA today, we should go on a fan strike
  16. The only trend i am seeing is the bitterness in your posts This is a good baseball team, and they WILL win the AL EAST
  17. It was one meatball after another, even the one Lowrie lined.
  18. Santos also in the pen. everyone could see Jenkins was labouring it was one meatball after another Its like Gibby knew Jays will never score anyways
  19. GAME OVER Leave meatball Jenkins in there. Great Job Gibby
  20. Need to pull Jenkins here, This is way too much for him. Bring in Jansenn there wont be a game to close if Jenkins pitches to another hitter
  21. Mastro is 2 for 4 today....if we project that over a career, Mastro is the greatest hitter in the history of Major League Baseball
