  1. Grichuk for Kimbrel is really unlikely, we value him more than other teams do. Saucedo and Smith have no value. Eyk for that package is robbery. We can throw in Groshans but they’ll want more since Berrios has control left and there just isn’t that many good SP available. Ramirez is worth way more than Pearson, especially this version that can’t stay healthy. Throwing Biggio in the package isn't enough to get it done. Maybe Cleveland would do it if we eat some contracts for them but that’s kinda wishful thinking. Trying to acquire JR while keeping the farm system untouched is going to take some wizardry.
  2. Atkins would need to include some criminal evidence or explicit photos for these deals to go through.
  3. Allen is advertised to be an explosive athlete in the tier of Jordan Lawlar and Benny Montgomery, that’s pretty exciting. I just get cringes drafting multi-sport guys after the Alford debacle, this board spent years debating about his upside and how much better he would be after committing to baseball. Not looking forward to anymore of these lines of discussion.
  4. Some really exciting arms available at our pick range if the target prep bat isn’t there
  5. If Atkins can pull off Berrios and Cruz, replace the Ted Rogers statue.
  6. Rotating the DH spot to rest guys is overrated. Give me the cleanup guy that bats .304/.377/.562, 151 wRC+ and on pace for 36 Hr and 100 RBIs. Guys can rest when we’re up 10-1.
  7. I’m also on the stay away from Fabian train. Possible names at our range.. long list and huge volatility with some of these guys. College Pitching: Bednar, Hoglund, Hill, McGreevy, G Williams, Cusick College Bat: Wilson, Del Castillo, Fabian, Morissette Prep Pitching: Painter, Chandler, Solometo, Petty, Mozicatto, Burns Prep Bat: Ford, Taylor, Mack, Allen, Montgomery, Baez, Wood, Stovall, White jr, Pacheco, Muncy, C Williams Guys probably out of our reach: Frelick, McLain, Cowser, Madden, Bachman, Wicks A couple two-way players in the top 50 and a couple multi-sport athletes, it’s gonna be a weird class. Draft starts on sunday.
  8. Sign me up for Cruz at DH, especially if it doesn’t cost them an arm, leg, or kidney. Pitching still a need, but letting TBR get Cruz would really suck for us.

  10. To be fair I did hear the rumor with Anthony Solometo being scouted by the Jays. A little bit surprising if they reach a bit for a prep arm in a deep class year without a 2nd round pick. His scouting reports are pretty glowing as one of the top prep lefties in the class. But I think there are potentially better options at #19.

  12. These people are watching the wrong sport.
  13. Would Ohtani win Cy Young?
  14. Who’s pitching? I’m not opposed to extending Semien, but if it takes 4-5 years to get it done for a 31 year old Semien at 20-25 AAV I’m not sure where they’ll get the dollars to patch the rotation. Robbie Ray is also expiring, so they’ll need two or three legit SP even if Pearson bounces back, and that’s a big assumption right now.
  15. What would it cost for Richard Rodriguez?
