    Agreed. And it’s nice to see Alford carving out a pinch running role. His two steals last night could’ve easily tied the game if we played better.

    There’s been a clear improvement in his at-bats with a better plate approach. He’s getting a few more pitches to see, he’s getting into better counts, and occasionally produces a fly ball. That’s noteworthy improvement from the first couple games before his move to 5th in the batting order. It’s trending in the right direction. Defensively he has played less than 3 weeks at first base, it’s going to be a learning process.

    I'm not sure they predicted a world pandemic and 60 game season with expanded playoffs when Charlie was hired. We are at minimum one year away from being a real .500 club imo, the kids need more seasoning under their belt and the team still has payroll to make FA splashes.
