  1. Pat Tabler was on the pre-game show and confirmed Cavan Biggio is a baseball player. This concludes today’s public service announcement.
  2. Eovaldi scratched for tomorrow, calf injury.
  3. I know this is all in good fun, but Vogelbach actually lost 30 lbs before his breakout last season. He’s actually put work into getting in better shape.
  4. Yes I forgot lefties that throw 88-89 mph are the bane of our existence. Let's hope we get some runs on their BP
  5. What are our chances in the Raptors vs Celtics matchup?
  6. So you're saying they're asking for Teoscar and McGuire for Plesac. Where do I sign?
  7. okay so... Simeon Woods-Richardson for Zach Plesac?
  8. Does occasional Vlad to 3B and Rowdy to 1B mean no more Joe Panik? I'm weighing my options.
  9. Kyle Hart = batting practice Red Sox also have no bullpen
  10. 1-0 since cash considerations was traded. No they have to do physicals and the covid protocols. Maybe Thursday?
  11. We'll have to sell low on Bo Bichette and only get back Mike Trout + cash.
  12. I wrote about him 13 months ago, while being one of the first guys voicing to call him up last year: https://www.radioscouts.com/daydreaming-on-cavan-biggio/
  13. He’s AL rookie of the year and it’s not close. He might be top 5 in MVP voting if the Mariners were more competitive.
  14. Groshan, Martin, and Kirk are seeing some really advanced pitching for their level if they’re facing Merryweather, Simeon, and Murray daily. Even MLB hitters have trouble squaring up on Merryweather, for good reason. Sounds like Manoah and Luciano are joining into the fun. Groshans should be learning a lot and making leaps of progress compared to your typical A-ball prospect.
  15. Hi Todd, nice to see you back

I was a Canucks fan a lifetime ago. Haven't cheered for them sparingly since the last playoff run. Are they any good?
  17. @baubau Shaw isn't going anywhere. McGuire and Fisher has fringe value and won't move the needle in trade discussions. I would not trade Gurriel jr, that's a huge mistake. Taking a main piece of our own team to upgrade another part of the team also doesn't makes sense during a playoff run. Gabriel Moreno has more value to us than as trade bait. Other teams would be asking for Groshans, Manoah, SWR, Martinez, and Hiraldo. None of them should be even considered unless we're getting an Ace back, like the Chris Sale / Verlander trade. That caliber of target isn't available, unless you count Mike Clevinger.
  18. What about Alejandro Kirk? He raked during summer camp and even took Roark deep at the Rogers Centre. He's always had a great approach too and OBP machine, certainty he could do better than McGuire's .107 OBP.
  19. Trevor Williams is having a better season, but it's almost like acquiring a younger Tanner Roark. Chad Kuhl has better swing & miss stuff, both FB and secondaries have good metrics. But he hasn't quite put it all together, also returning from 2019 TJS so some injury history. Both are under control until 2023. This is like shopping for another #3/#4 starter, it's not a massive upgrade over any of our current options. The deal might make sense short term, since our entire rotation has injury history. But whether or not they're willing to pony up the prospects to get it done, what this team really needs is a front line starter. Imagine going up against the Yankees in the postseason and our rotation is Ryu, Roark, Anderson. Yikes. Taijuan Walker also has extensive history and a bit of a reclamation project, he's also a rental. Unless he comes for practically free, which is doubtful, I rather not trade prospects away for a rental reclamation arm. We're not quite this desperate to shop in this aisle of the bargain store. There are internal 5th starter options in case of an emergency. I'd rather have Dylan Bundy if these are our options. 1) He's under control until 2022 2) He's actually having a great season, 1.1 fWAR in 6 starts, 2.58 ERA 3.06 FIP in 38.1 IP. 3) We can use him against the Orioles and laugh at them
  20. True but I'd also be careful. Ben Cherington and Steve Sanders knows this farm system inside out and will likely take some really good prospects away.
