  1. Its been years since I have been able to say that a Jays team is firing on all cylinders.... and we are almost there. Hitting, starting pitching, defence, closing pitching, hustle all of it is working right now. Bullpen is the only thing that has been a little shaky in this last stretch.
  2. I dunno man, I see It much differently. I can only think of 4 players that we drafted that are our roster: Lind, Loup, Cecil, Jansen and Hutch. The only other player worth mentioning in recent memory is Arencibia. Sure we have Stroman, Nolin and Sanchez in the minors but there are a lot of question marks surrounding some of the other talent (Ie: Osuna). We had 1 player in last year's Futures game and now he has elbow problems (Jimenez). Im saying our scouting was depleted and has yet to be fixed. And Yan Gomes above average his entire career??? He Played 9 games at C in 2012 and only 85 last year (ill give you he only made 3 errors and had a + WAR last year). This year in 39 games he has 9 errors. I could go on.
  3. Heavy reliance on stats is exactly the problem. Ricciardi fired way too many scouts, preferring to rely on stats based assessment of players. The Jays scouting has yet to be rebuilt, which is a huge problem imo. Ricciardi wanted to play moneyball, meanwhile teams like the Braves with heavy reliance on traditional scouting systems are scooping up all the talent. Id also like to point out that Gomes is the WORST fielding catcher in the majors, given that we dumped Farell in the deal the trade was a bit of a wash.
  4. Buehrle settling in hopefully.. he gave some runs up early last game too if I recall
  5. Buehrle due to get roughed up, hopefully they don't catch up
  6. Agree, but Pillar isn't exactly Mickey Mantle and his 7 AB vs. lefties are a pretty small sample.
  7. I really don't understand why you have pillar in the game with Francisco and Lind both hitting well
  8. I would only play him in a blowout. Definitely not against a divisional opponent on the road.
  9. Yeah that's my point, of course I realize it because I see the fallout from it everyday in the courts.
  10. Im starting to think that the only reason that Rogers plays on the team is because ownership sees him as cheap advertising for their cable company... apparently they haven't noticed that no one will ever buy his f***ing jersey.
  11. I know some of you guys probably don't get out much, but let me just say that the internet is not a good place for the socially awkward to meet girls. I know this from experience... I work in the Justice system.
  12. I would add Eckersley to that list, though not a true sidearm, his delivery was so wonky that it looked like sidearm (even though it was more like a slingshot). I still remember the first time I saw Eichhorn pitch for the Jays, my little 11 year old brain thought it was Eck because of the delivery and the fact that his name started with "E".
  13. There is no way he can continue this pace (iE: .500 OB%) but if Rasmus didn't come back I think he would continue to impress in the outfield and as the old adage goes: Speed never slumps.
