  1. That post was in reference to Mathis getting injured and most likely cut. NFL contracts are not guarenteed.
  2. Yup. the richest league's average player makes little in comparison to the other leagues. And one injury can kill an entire career.
  3. Especially cutting a guy for cap reasons when he has been a top 5 player for your team for the last decade and a Hall of Famer. Its almost like the NFL's CBA makes it force the Colts to cut him even though he has done so much for the Franchise.
  4. It means that future cases will have the player agree to out of court settlement worth a ton of money so they can't get suspended and lose a ton of money potentially. I think the NFL's new policy is for only people convicted of the charge, but I could be wrong.
  5. In other news Robert Mathis tore his Achilles, season over. As a Colts Fan I just died a little.
  6. NFL suspends Rice indefinitely. What about Ray Mcdonald, NFL? Does anyone seriously think if there is no video he even gets suspended? Hell no
  7. Probably because they get good ratings. Its like Bob Mccown, he had to change his personality on radio to get better ratings. Im sure Wilner is actually a great person to be around in everyday life but just puts on a different voice for his role at SN.
  8. My guess is it is because of the April crowds but I would think the TV numbers would be much better in April compared to September for half the league.
  9. While some of you have said that if another player did this without video tape it wouldn't be getting publicity is correct. Look no further than Ray Mcdonald who PLAYED yesterday after having been arrested for domestic violence. This was after Jim Harborough says he would not tolerate Domestic violence. This is a good article about the 49ers and what players get away with. http://blog.sfgate.com/killion/2014/09/07/yes-ray-mcdonald-will-play-today-for-the-49ers/
  10. Then have them play more road games in April? There are ways around this but I don't expect the MLB to ever be smart. Im sure the TV ratings are terrible in September for non contending teams compared to in April.
  11. My guess is April crowds are usually terrible but im not sure late September will be any better with the the NFL and NCAA being in full force.
  12. Not sure why they are making the sched. start later and finish later. Most people are dying by April 1 to watch baseball and by September the NFL has started
  13. And this is the big problem. The NFL and to a lesser extent the Ravens are all about protecting their image. If those videos were never made public Ray Rice would of started the game yesterday. They don't care about domestic violence at all, they care about their image and that is why Ray Rice won't play again this season.
  14. BNS tweeted out we start the season in NY on April 6 for the Yankees home opener. Seems a week late but apparently the season doesn't start till April 5 Edit: Home Opener April 13 vs Rays
  15. I feel like any contests with over 20 people there is just so much luck involved.
  16. The feel I get is you get more value on FD compared to DK for MLB.
  17. So most of the winnings are from MLB or did you win some in NFL too?
  18. The only guy i would skip in the rotation is Happ. Everyone has been pitching pretty well lately.
  19. How much have you guys made since you started playing?
  20. I wonder if Dickey could pitch every 4th day. I think his arm could do it but he is almost 40 and his legs are a big part of his delivery.
  21. The NFL has to suspend him more games after that video. And I suspect the NFL to do that because it is an image league. Do you think the NFL actually gives a s*** about domestic violence? Hell no all they care about is the perception of them and that is why there is the new domestic violence rule. Jim Harborough was saying how he didn't tolerate doemstic violence and that no one on his team would be able to play if it happens..Fast forward a week and Ray Mcdonald gets charged for domestic violence and he plays in the game yesterday because his hearing isn't until Sep. 15.
  22. A 18 or 19 year old kid would get killed physically in the NFL.
  23. Im as diehard a Colts fan as there is. Im a huge Peyton fan obviously, but not tonight!
  24. Some pretty exciting games at the 1pm start time. This Dallas SF game has had so many penalties early... Cant wait for SNF
  25. IIRC Lacava was offered the job but turned it down to stay with the Blue Jays..
