  1. If you mean for playoffs there should be no chance Schultz is on roster. You only need 5 relievers at the most anyway and 4 starters.
  2. Eovoldi is nasty. 101 with a dirty splitter
  3. Eovoldi throwing 101 like its nothing lol
  4. If he wants to win he's going to have to move to 2nd or 3rd maybe even the bench. His defense is so bad that he can't play SS anymore. And no team that wants to win is going to want that contract lol. Man Reyes declined so much. Used to be one of the best superstars in the game.
  5. Just getting rid of Reyes's contract was a huge plus. To get Tulo back while having to only give up Hoffman and a couple of relievers was a massive bargain. The trade has realistic potential of turning into one of the most one-sided trades in recent memory.
  6. I was comparing it to a meaningless run in the 9th of a blowout off a position player pitching. A homerun to put your team up 1-0 in the first inning is obviously very valuable. You don't think a homerun in a 10-0 game is worth less than a walkoff HR? Pitchers in blowouts usually suck and can be just grooving fastballs down the pipe.
  7. Never said that. Anyways that comparison is apples and oranges since to drive in 6 runs would require multiple PA. Im saying a player deserves more credit for hitting a homerun if it were to win his team the game in the Bot 9th with 2 outs off one of the best closers in the game compared to a player hitting a homerun off a position player pitching in the 9th inning of a 10-0 game. The degree of difficulty is massive between the 2 events and one is obviously a lot more valuable than the other.
  8. Delabar would be a decent pen arm on a contending team. Just there are 7 better guys ahead of him here in Toronto. He should be up in September. Hes not a bad guy to use in blowouts. He still has swing and miss stuff.
  9. Sure but a 3 run HR by Josh Donaldson to win the game in the Bot 9th off David Robertson adds more value than a Danny Valencia HR off a position player in the bot 8th in a 10 run game. One of those events adds more value to their team and the degree of difficulty is much much more difficult.
  10. Because he should deserve more credit based on the fact that outcome determines the game. He will surely be facing a much better pitcher in that situation while in a blowout he could be facing some scrub from the minors. 1 of those hits is a lot more difficult and should be rewarded higher. Especially when we are talking about the Most VALUABLE player award. A player has more value if he is helping his team win more games. This isn't an award for most outstanding player.
  11. You don't think a player deserves more credit for hitting a walk off HR than hitting a HR in the 7th inning to make his team go up 11-0?
  12. I think you just keep using the platoon.at 1B. Smoak has certainly struggled but I think you try to ride it out. Wonder who the 1B will be next year. Imagine Chris Davis in this lineup and ballpark?
  13. Is there any reason why MLB hasn't changed it so the arbitrator can chose a midpoint? I don't mind the current system tbh but just wondering if they planned to ever change that.
  14. Not at all. If you want to know who the most valuable is you have to look at Win Probability added. WAR says a Homerun in a 10-0 game is worth the same as a HR in a 4-3 game which it isn't if you are trying to know who helped the team win the most.
  15. Don't want to rain on the parade but is anyone concerned with Dickey? Last 2 starts have been brutal. Can't strike guys out anymore.
  16. lol Osuna strikes out the side throwing nothing but fastballs.
  17. lol Goins is hitting nice but still pretty bad baserunner.
  18. nice play. Sanchez pretty athletic for a guy that size
  19. Jays need someone like Alex McKechnie of the Raptors.
  20. Bautista was on MLB network either last year or the year before and said they've been asking ownership for new equipment a lot. I think it was a hyperbolic chamber but can't remember 100%. Blue jays writers have said the equipment needs upgrades as well.
