  1. In sheer value business wise you might be correct in regards to his contract individually but you also have to factor in the additional assets he brings to the team giving stability to our rotation, enhancing the pen by eating so many innings, allowing more of a buffer for Norris/Sanchez to properly acclimate, and most importantly a legitimate shot to win a WS over the next few seasons.
  2. I think they have closer to 10M if the payroll is going up to 140M this year plus the Navarro trade option. We have to remember too these payroll limitations are self imposed by Rogers, they could easily say due to extenuating circumstances and this opportunity to win we're going to raise the payroll an extra 5-10M for this year. Next year Buerhle, Romero, Izturis are gone (30.5M) and you can potentially factor in Dickey (12.5M) if he has a bad year and trends downward. They will definitely have a little flexibility next yr so there not exactly in the worst spot going forward..
  3. It will be Dickey hands down but I'm hoping it will be Shields.
  4. You could even make a case for the Jays signing him at 4/80 because this team stands to gain the most with this acquisition. Is it a steep price? Perhaps but if an extra 5-10M over the duration is what it takes to put this team over the top so be it. Also in retrospect everyone expected 5/100 as a sure thing so they got him now with a year less on the term.
  5. Exactly that's why we have to capatalize on this season and next, but if they still keep it up though they'll definitely be more inclined to leave if there isn't the team success to match it.
  6. If the Jays can get him for 4/75 they should do it. As everybody is saying it would be a dream scenario for our rotation with 3 Workhorses- Dickey, Buerhle, Shields and 3 Young Stallions- Stroman, Hutch, Norris. Cheesy analogies aside it would definitely be shades of the St.Louis Cardinals of a few yrs back, definitely a recipe for a winner.
  7. I couldn't agree more, they gambled last trade deadline by standing pat and it didn't pay off. By the looks of it they are gambling again this year with the pitching staff and again it could be very costly. The window is these next two seasons and I would hate for this to be another wasted year. JB & EE will be able to pick and choose their destinations and will surely be out of patience with Rogers if they don't make a push.
  8. I agree that's an ideal scenario. I think the Jays are definitely open to the idea and maybe have had some talks already but I don't see him passing over the Padres to come to Toronto.
  9. Sheilds would be great but I think the Padres are definitely the frontrunner as mentioned. It's really looking like the 5 spot is for Norris to lose this spring training. I don't think Estrada breaks into the rotation even if Norris falters, I think they'll just go back to Sanchez as a fallback but they really want to keep him in the pen. All indications are Cecil will get a chance to close with perhaps Sanchez as an outside option but again there's a lot hinging on Norris by the looks of it this spring training.
  10. Sounds about right.
  11. Do you guys really think you can fluke into the playoffs without spending more money to put a winner on the field? This in spite of the moves you've made which you're now so ridiculously proud of it's borderline impairing your judgement to address the rest of the holes on your team..
  12. Anyone but the Yankees. Talk about insult to injury if AA can't get it done and he ends up a Yank, it will be twice as bad if it's only a 3-4yr contract at less than 20M per.
  13. Their main achilles will be not coughing up enough dough to acquire the proper depth to make the playoffs as we come just a few million and a few games short of the last WC spot.
  14. It's a bad year to experiment imo. I mean are we serious about making the playoffs or not..
  15. Easily post of the year candidate.
  16. Clearly you Mets fans couldn't handle the Dickey. He's going to be untouchable in yr 3 for us as he sprays his balls all over the plate.
  17. Who's been to Thailand? Tranny homebase and ladyboy capital of the world. No matter how good you think your detector is, it'll lead you astray a few times.
  18. I just can't stand the taste and combo of green veggies & fruits. I can't even drink V8 lol. I put flax oil in my fruit smoothies and also cillium husk. I heard chia seeds are similar to cillium husk and are supposed to be really good too for cleaning your intestines out. I use water instead of milks, what does the macha powder do?
  19. Yeah my diet isn't great yet either but it's heading in the right direction, I'll def consider dropping the supplements if I can master my diet on a regular basis though because they are so goddam expensive! I even have a veggie powder supplement that I'm throwing into my smoothies now until I get into the zone with my diet.
  20. Thanks for the tips, yeah supplements can be crazy expensive! I don't really keep track of my daily calorie intake or tabs on my macro so I'll try to monitor that more and I'll research the BMR. I do 16 reps and try to increase the weight on my last set to max out, that might be a mistake however so I appreciate your info. I can't believe you drink coffee before your workouts, you must be bouncing off walls!!
  21. Yeah I do dynamic stretches pre workout (squats, lunges with weights, etc) and static after. I'm trying to cut out the white rice and potatoes because they break down into sugars easier and I'm trying to get back to the lean phase. I'm not at the point yet where I can eat anything unfortunately, I wish though. I agree about depriving though, I'm trying to eat & snack all throughout the day now but just with healthier options.
  22. Thanks, I'd use creatine too but I'm trying to avoid mass. You should add vitamins and amino acids, also glutamine to your shakes as it will enhance your muscle rebuild during recovery. They're all natural and essential to the body, I hear what you're saying though there's so much s*** on the market that isn't essential and can add up quick!
  23. What do you guys use for supplements? I take a vita stack, amino acids (during workout), and whey protein/glutamine smoothie (post workout). I think those 4 are vital but any other recommendations? I'm going for a lean look instead of mass so I do lighter weights and more reps. I stretch for 5min, jump on a bike to get the heart rate up for 5min then 45min freeweights and 30mins cardio (15min each machine). I heard this was the optimum workout, I also alternate my cardio program with swimming every other workout so I don't get bored. In my diet I do the standard lean meats, fruits, veggies, tuna, eggs, walnuts, raisins, etc. I cut out white potato and white rice, I only use sweet potato/squash & brown rice for my complex carbs. I'm trying to drink a s*** ton of water & do walking, yoga/meditation on my off days. Of course I fall off huge if I go drinking with friends and eat tons of s*** food or slip up from time to time with my diet during the wk but for the most part I try to stick to this. Does anyone have any more advice they can give about diet/routine? I really want to get ripped by the summer. I used to be cut but I've slipped huge the last few yrs so I'm looking to get it back without cheating (juicing). I'm looking for any advantage that's all natural.
  24. The number of athletes in general because your system breaks it down and flushes it out so quickly. Let alone the amount of celebrities, high society, or basically anyone with too much time and money on their hands..
