    I know the details, but one of two things are happening here. Either people on here like him alot as a prospect and are using this unfortunate circumstance as a excuse to explain that he just isn't that good, or this actually did derail his entire season and possibly his career, in which case the kid is weak mentally and probably would of washed out anyways from some other unfortunate incident. And yes, a lot of people/players go through family health situations/tragedies in their lives, cancer has decimated large portions of my family but I didn't let it affect my life or job performance for an entire year. The sports landscape is littered with stories like this (see Freddie Freeman), who have persevered through really tough situations. Using it as an excuse for not succeeding, which I'm not sure he has said but the media definitely has for him, is a narrative that is ridiculously overplayed and seems to have grown exponentially with this generation. Too many kids have been raised to be sympathy whores in the last 25 years and to play the victim card when s*** doesn't go their way. So ya, suck it up buttercup.
